Ok so I was trying to think of ideas and this came to mind so yep! Going with it!
Team Voltron went to a galra ship, sneaking on undetected. They went to find the prisoners, and they did it quiet quickly. Right after they had gotten the last prisoner out of the cells, the alarm started blaring in their ears as the walls were shaded a bright red and dark purple. Shiro tried to calm the prisoners down, but eventually he just started picking them up because they didn't have the time.
Hunk helped with that job too, picking up about 3 in a bear hug to get the most he could. Lance, Keith, and Pidge were the cover for them. Pidge and Keith being short range or mostly short range, they ran in front of Lance as they rounded the corner. The corner led into a hallway leading in two different directions.
Unluckily for Lance, they had missed the robed witch in the other direction, and Lance was too focused on fighting the galra right in front of them that he didn't notice her until it was too late. She had shot him with her dark magic.... but it wasn't a harmful one. Not in the way they thought it would be. All it did to him was make him unconscious and she left. They were all confused but soon, they would get their answer.
Lance woke up to bright lights in his face and blobs around him. Once his vision cleared however, he started to hyperventilate. Keith and Hunk tried to comfort Lance by saying things like,
"What's wrong buddy? You hurt anywhere?" Or,
"Hey Lance, you hanging in there okay?" But these did not help him, it made the problem worse. Eventually they ended up using the old cartoon method with a bag. And somehow this worked for him and he calmed down. Once he was finally calm enough to speak, he said something that haunted them,
"Am I Lance? Who are you and what's my name?"
By this time, it was Hunk hyperventilating. How could his best friend not remember him or his other friends? What did Haggar do?! They were able to calm him down after much time, and Shiro asked,
"Do you remember what happened to you?" Lance shook his head, giving a very bad sign. Allura and Coran exchanged looks but didn't say anything, in fear he might start to panic again.
After a long while, they realized why Haggar had done this. It would destroy Voltron from the inside out. It was probably one of her best moves yet, without the leg, Voltron cannot stand against evil. This would break the whole team with one person. And that person was Lance.
They still let him stay in his old room, though he'd get confused in the giant hallways he used to memorize. To jog his memory even the slightest bit, they did little familiar things like Keith and his sly comments, Pidge with her treating him like a brother, and all the others doing familiar things.
One day, maybe after a week and a half after the spell happened, he was walking past Lance's door and heard muffled..... crying? He slid the door open a smidge to see the inside without being discovered, he found Lance looking at a photo of the team and crying with tears falling onto the frame.
This confused him greatly, so he decided to confront Lance. He slid the door open all the way and walked over to Lance. Lance had a shocked and guilty expression, but Keith didn't understand why yet. So Lance did the responsible thing, he gave an explanation,
"I got my memory back a while ago," Keith looked at Lance with a mix of slight anger and shock before he continued, "You all treated me so much better when I 'didn't have my memory'. I wanted that to last a bit longer."
The way he explained it broke Keith's heart into pieces. Did they really treat him that horribly? I guess they do fight a lot. And Shiro does normally go with Keith. I guess so. But this still made Keith feel very guilty. He wasn't the goofball they made him to be, and Lance didn't like the way they treated him, it hurt his feelings.
"Lance we have to go tell the others. It's wrong to not tell them, just tell them how you feel."
Lance looked at Keith skeptical, but he realized he was right. It was wrong to keep lying to them. They headed to the others with Lance looking slightly nervous and Keith with a look of reassurance.
When they got to the main room where everyone was, they stared at them in confusion before Lance asked,
"Pidge, can I borrow a music player of some sort?" To which Pidge handed him a makeshift iPod shuffle and Lance took it. He scrolled through the songs before he found the right one and pressed on it. The song was,
Grace VanderWaal: I don't know my name
The paladins looked confused beyond words at first but at the end they finally understood what he meant. They all group hugged him as the song ended. This was truly, a happy ending.
Hope it was okay. I think you could tell where I took a break but I think it's ok I guess. Tell me if you like it!
