My eyes flutter open, the strong smell of pancakes immediately filling my nose. That must be Dahlia, Lillian never cooks, I think with a smile. I roll over, letting the soft white sheets tangle in-between my slim legs. I catch sight of a boy, his dark hair all mussed up from sleeping. Suddenly, last night's events come flooding into my mind. How is Ethan gonna leave without them seeing him? Oh well, that's a problem for future Lonnie. I snuggle my head into the space between his shoulder blades, placing small kisses there.
"Morning, Kitten," I hear his raspy voice say. I stop kissing, sitting up so I'm leaning on my arm over him, my hair tickling his face.
"Mornin'," I reply, cracking a grin. He smiles, rolling over. I sit up properly, reaching for the glass of water that is constantly beside my bed. I gulp the last of it, smiling when I see the exasperated look on his face.
"Don't I get any water, Kitten?" He asks, giving me a playful pout. My smile quickly turns into a smirk.
"I have an attached bathroom, you could always get yourself one there. Or, if you prefer, you could just go into the kitchen. You know, say hi to Lil and Dae," I answer with a shrug. He smirks back at me. Before replying, he grabs the glass and tosses it across the room, not even glancing when it smashes into tiny bits. He jumps on me and I squeal as he starts placing sloppy kisses on my neck, right in my weak spot. I burst out laughing, and in a fit of squeals and giggles, I don't hear Lil come in.
"Lonnie! Are you-" She stops, her eyes wide. "Sorry! I'll just leave you be..." She states, walking swiftly out of the room, shutting the door behind her. I groan, allowing my head to loll backwards. Ethan bursts out laughing and I glare at him.
"Ethan!" I hiss. "They weren't supposed to see you!"
"Well, they were gonna find out anyway," he answers, brushing my hair out of my face. "Better get going, Kitten, don't wanna be late." He says, kissing me quickly before getting up to find some pants. I roll my eyes, it was always like this. It was supposed to be a one-night stand, but it turned into more like a once-a-week-night stand. My eyes move to the hideously short dress I wore last night, laying crumpled on the floor. Before I can mull over the contents of the night, Ethan walks to my door, stuff in hand. I stand, walking over to him.
"Bye, Kitten. See you next week?" He asks hopefully, suggestively wiggling his eyebrows. I fix him with a playful glare.
"No promises," I answer, the corners of my lips tugging upwards. We both know that is a lie.
"You always say that." He replies sarcastically before kissing me on the forehead and leaving, shutting the door behind him. I sigh, moving to tidy my room up a bit. Once my room is semi-tidy, I put on a grey singlet and some navy cotton shorts and walk out, shaking my head at the girls as I arrive at the breakfast bar. Dae wiggles her eyebrows but Lil just looks at me with a smug expression plastered on her face.
"Shut up!" I say, my face burning.
"Is he your boyfriend?" Dae asks, dragging out the last word. My face flushes even brighter and I look down at my shorts, seeming very interested in the stitching.
"No! He's just... A one time thing." I swear, peeking up at them. Lil has placed a plate in front of me and a cup of orange juice to the side a bit.
"I don't know, Lonnie..." Lil says, putting three fluffy pancakes on my plate. I smother my food with golden syrup before cutting into it. I take a bite and groan with pleasure.
"Dae! These pancakes are divine!" I say enthusiastically, cutting another piece.
"It might be the amount of syrup you put on it. Seriously? Who puts that much syrup on their pancakes?" She asks, smiling.
"Stop changing the subject. London Carter, you will tell us exactly where this boy stands in your life." Lil presses, hands on hips.
"Lil!" I yell. "This isn't that serious? Why are you so concerned about me? And why do I have to tell you everything in my life?" I argue, my voice booming through the house. I push my plate away, my stomach now feeling empty.
"Sorry, Dae. They were great, but I'm not that hungry..." I say quickly, standing up and walking into my room, slamming the door behind me. I hear muffled voices through the door but choose to ignore it. I run my hand through my hair and let out an exasperated sigh. What right does she have to know about my private life? I think to myself. I sigh again, moving to pick out an outfit for the day. Yay me.
