I study my figure in the mirror, frowning at the smallest imperfections. I needed to be confident today, I needed that boost. Lil just didn't understand, why did she need to push it? My phone buzzes, alerting me that I have a message. I walk over to where it is placed lazily on the bed, and pick it up.
Ethan:
Hey Kitten, wanna go out tonight? At the place we met?I smile at the message, the place we met. I remember that like it was yesterday...
I straighten my dress as I walk through the door, the bell chiming to announce my entrance. I flip my newly curled hair over my shoulder and strut through the nightclub, swaying my hips as I walk. I find the bar and sit down on one of the stools, my eyes flicking around the room. As I'm studying the space, my thoughts are interrupted by a stranger clearing their throat. My eyes immediately snap up to his and he cracks a smile, I batt my eyelashes at him.
"Need anything, miss?" He asks, picking up a tea towel and wet glass to start cleaning it.
"What've you got?" I throw back, challenging him with my eyes. His puts the glass and towel down and runs a hand through his shaggy chocolate coloured hair. He sighs.
"You've put me in a very compromising position, as I'm not really sure what's the best for a girl like you." I throw my head back in laughter, grinning at him when I sit back up. I play with a strand of my hair as I answer.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" I ask, raising an eyebrow. "A girl like me? What am I like?"
"Well, not sure if you know this, but different drinks suit different personalities. I think you could go with The Sexy Kitten." He answers, trying an failing to suppress a smirk.
"The Sexy Kitten?.." I ask, struggling to contain more laughter. Luckily, he chuckles, allowing me a moment to let out a quick giggle.
"What?" He asks, throwing his hands in the air. "It's the name of the damn drink!" We smile, staring into each other's eyes for practically forever, not saying a word. All too soon, he pulls away and my heart soars. I shake my head, remembering our words.
"And why should I get The Sexy Kitten?" I ask, peeking at him behind my thickly coated eyelashes.
"Because you are one, gorgeous," He answers, and I duck my head, my cheeks burning.
"Okay, I'll have The Sexy Kitten, please." He smirks and gets to work.
Once my drink has arrived, my eyes widen at how pink it is. "How did you even do that?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"Magic!" He answers, waving his hands enthusiastically. I stifle a laugh and take a sip of the drink. My eyes widen.
"That's the best fucking tasting drink I've ever had!" I say, gulping the rest fo it down. "It's so sweet! It's gotta be my favourite now!" I gush, drinking. He laughs, running a hand over his stubble.
"Do you wanna dance, Kitten?" My heart soars at the nickname and I nod, leaving my unfinished drink on the counter.
"Aren't you on your shift?" I ask, poking him in the side.
"Yes. But never mind that, I have more important things to attend to," He replies, staring at me. I duck my head and grab his hand, leading him onto the dance floor. Just in time, a new up-beat song comes on and I place my back on his chest and start dancing, moving my hands around while he dances behind me. He leans down, whispering. "The name's Ethan." He says, resting his head on mine.
"I'm London," I reply, smirking.
"Well, London," He says, emphasising my name. "Wanna come back to my place? You know, have some fun?" I almost choke on laughter. He sobers up pretty quickly and stands. This boy definitely knows what he wants. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing," I answer, fluttering my eyelashes at him. "Let's go," I loop my fingers around his and we walk to the exit, my head leaning on his shoulder.
"I have a feeling you're really great, Kitten."
And I'm left smiling.
