Ryka's POV
*•*

"Ryka! Wake up! Time to train!" Avery whisper yells, so she doesn't wake everyone in Alpha Manor up.

"I'm up!" I run out my bedroom and collide with Avery, who was standing in front of my bedroom door.

"Well you got ready fast." She says as we get up from the floor.

"I've been up for a few hours. I was waiting on you to come get me."

"Alright then. Let's go." I immediately take off towards the door that leads to our gigantic backyard. After a few seconds I see Avery come through the door.

   "Cmon hurry."

"Chill Ryka, we have all day. So first I need you to shift so I can see what powers you have." I immediately shift into my midnight black wolf called Scarlett. I notice that Avery has a notepad. She's probably writing down what powers I have. She motions for me to shift back and I do.

"So how do I do the fireball thing?" I ask.

"Let me think for a minute first. Okay so I ordered your powers from greatest to least. Your marking shows that fire is your strongest power and water is your weakest. The difference between fire and water for you isn't much. It took me years to master both of my powers. And even after I had mastered them I still couldn't combine their forces. With the looks of it you will only need a week to master and combine your powers. So let's start with fire. You must concentrate really hard. Channel your powers. Now attempt to make a fireball appear."

"Okay." It only takes a few seconds of concentration for a fireball to appear in my hand.

"Now throw it at that tree." She points to an evergreen tree behind me. I rare my arm back and throw the fire like a baseball. It hits its mark perfectly and the tree falls to the ground.

"Can I do something else cool now!"

"Let's try water. Attempt to move the water from that glass over there." I turn around and see a glass of water on the railing of the deck. I concentrate really hard and after what feels like forever a droplet of water raises from the cup. After a few second it falls back into the cup.

   "Dang it."

"Ryka that only took you ten minutes. That's amazing. See if you can create a force field."

   "That's a power?"

"Yes it is. There have only been 11 other women with the power of barriers. Even less women have had multiple powers."

"Wait how do you have powers if you're my cousin?"

"Well our grandma Rosie had powers too and she passed them down to both of her children. Normally only one child has the powers but I guess since you're so powerful there had to be two before you."

"That's so cool."

"Now try to create a forcefield. Once you create it I'll throw a rock at it and see if it holds up." In a split second a forcefield surrounds me. "How did you do that so fast?"

"I don't know. I guess I'm just getting better at concentrating. Throw the rock now." She pitches the rock at me and it doesn't even make a dent in the barrier.

"Stay here while I go get some things. You can drop the barrier." I drop the field and she runs off into the house to find something. She comes back a few minutes later with my parents and a pistol. "Okay put the barrier back up." I don't even have to move and the barrier just forms.

"Wow! That's amazing!" My mom practically yells.

"Watch this." Avery points the gun straight at me. I close my eyes and focus all of my thoughts on the barrier. I hear the gun go off and then someone gasps. I look at my father and see his mouth hanging open. Avery points to the ground in front of the field. I look down and see what I think is a bullet that has been crushed.

"It did absolutely nothing. It didn't hurt anything at all." My mom gasps.

"Can I step into the forcefield?" My father asks.

"You can try." Avery shrugs. My father walks up to the forcefield and I immediately create something that works as a door. The purple tinted barrier become slightly more transparent and my dad walks to me. Avery runs and tries to come through the lighter part of the barrier but I concentrate on not letting her through and she just bounces off of the barrier. Father walks back out and Avery tries to get in again but still can't.

"Just let her in Ryka." Mother pleads.

"But this is fun." I focus on adding electricity to the barrier and the next time Avery touches it she gets lightly shocked.

"You're honestly brilliant. You can already combine your powers and you just started practicing today."

We continue to train until sundown. By that time I have mastered all 22 of my powers. From greatest to least my powers are fire, forcefields, healing, time, knowledge, sound, earth, poison, mind reading, darkness, speed, strength, air, life, death, emotion, magnets, light, memory erasing, weather, electricity, and water. The gap between my strongest and weakest powers is little to none now. No one on the earth has powers that match the strength of mine. Even if all the people of the world teamed up against me my powers will still prevail.

"Can you make a dagger out of water?" Kayden asks. Kayden and Harley had showed up about an hour ago.

"I don't know. Let's see." I respond. In less than a second I create a dagger out of the water in the air and I launch it at Kayden. Just before it hits him in the head I change it back to air so all he feels is a gust of wind. Harley growls menacingly at me and I just growl back with a power that brings the three people in front of me to their knees.

"You do not disrespect me." My voice mixes with my wolfs when I speak. My dominance radiating off of me in waves. They all bow their heads and bare their necks in submission.

"We're sorry. Harley didn't mean it." Avery answers. I turn away and sprint into the woods. I shift into Scarlett as soon as I break the tree line.
