Lance's POV
*•*"What do you mean she's in a coma!? She left my castle only a few days ago! I'm sending more guards. No I'll watch her myself! Ready a bedroom in your Pack House and transfer her to a room next to or your bedroom. Keep physical contact with her as much as possible, it will help her heal faster. I'll have my guards track the Shadow as well. See you soon son." I hang up the phone and begin packing my bag.
"Alpha King? What are you doing?" My Beta asks.
"We will live amongst the Sharp Claw Pack until this war is over. Assemble a team of guards to come with us. I will explain more when we get there." He nods his head and leaves the room. I finish packing and call for an armored car to transport us to the pack. My phone rings just as I step into the vehicle.
"What now pup?" I growl. The person on the other end of the line whimpers lowly.
"A-Alpha King. We have another confirmed location of the Shadow, Wyoming. New Mexico and Vermont are also possible locations." I huff and roll my eyes at my Gamma.
"Send warriors to all locations. I'm sure you've heard, but I will be staying in a pack a couple hours away. I will still be in charge, you will be handling needs at the castle. Mind link if you require assistance." I shut off my phone and begin to drift off to sleep.
My Beta shakes me awake as we pull into a garage. I open the door and step out. Several wolves drop their heads and back away. I follow Ryka's scent to Ryder's bedroom. As soon as I open the door Ryder takes a defensive stance over her.
"Move pup." I growl out. He only growls back louder. I roll my eyes and sit down in a chair at the end of the bed. He relaxes a little bit but still lays over her.
"We have more locations of the Shadow. We also think we have the location of Louis Peterson." I raise my eyebrows.
"They had another child? How old is he? Why wasn't I notified?" Ryder shakes his head and moves to sit at the end of the bed.
"Ryka found him being bullied at training. He was an orphan. The Peterson's adopted him. Supposedly his mate took him from here a few days ago when there was a battle. He is only 8. He has shifted but isn't very strong. Ryka is extremely protective of him." I nod my head.
"Send some of my warriors to the locations. Report back as soon as possible. How long has she been like this?"
"Since yesterday afternoon. The doctor said something along the lines of it not being a full coma. It should only last a few days but the wounds may take months to heal."
"But she's a werewolf, shouldn't she heal faster?"
"She's been overworking herself for so long that her body is exhausted. Her healing rate is extremely slow and will continue to be until she is fully healed. Her body can only use so much energy at one time. This coma should help to regain energy so she won't be as exhausted when she wakes up."
"We will have to monitor her more after she wakes up." As he is about to speak a siren wails.
"The border has been breached. I'm not leaving her side. Will you lead my warriors? Mind link if anything goes wrong." I nod my head and race out the door. Through Ryder I use his pack link.
"Sharp Claw Pack, this is your Alpha King. I need every available warrior to help contain the threat. Only kill if necessary. Direct everyone else to the safe house" I shift as I run out the front door. The stench of rogue hits my nose. The smell is slightly different than normal rogues.
I rip into the first rogue I see. His eyes blank as I hold a pressure point in his neck. Another rogue comes at me from behind. I kick his snout, causing him to whine loudly and back away. A wolf jumps over me and attacks. My Beta flanks my side as we sedate as many wolves as possible. The wave never seems to end.
I take a few seconds to survey the battle, finding someone I know all too well. I shift to my human form and fight my way to him. He stands on a rock in human form, looking over the battle.
"Well, well, well, look who we have here. If it isn't my beloved cousin. Hello, Rogue King."
