And finally, a little one-on-one time with Willow and Mr Garner to get to know each other. ;)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I walked into the lunch room, quite happy with myself. Finally, some time with Mr Garner away from other people! I couldn't help but smile. God. He was my teacher! I shouldn't be having this feelings...but I just couldn't help it. I guess I have what some would say a "teacher crush." Just thinking it sounds wrong. It's not like anythings going to happen, right? I mean he's my teacher, he's been working enough years to never even think twice about a student....right?

I pushed the thoughts out of my mind, not wanting to think about it anymore. I walked over to where Chase and Stacy were sitting. I noticed Anna and Mark holdings hands, I couldn't help but smile. They did look cute together. I also saw Lindsey glaring at me, what was her problem?

"Hey Willow!" Stacy said, pulling out a chair for me to sit in.

"Hey Willy" Chase said smirking, shocking me a little. How dare he call me that!

"Don't you ever call me that again!" I said smacking him on the back of the head. "Ow!" he yelped making Stacy and I giggle.

"Where's Carter?" I asked noticing he wasn't at the table, also earning me another glare from Lindsey that I ignored.

"He was sick today, as if it was any of your business" Lindsey replied coldly. Stacy shot her a glance and looked back at me, "Hey Willow, we were all wondering if you would like to hang out this weekend? We're having a kind of movie weekend" she asked me, raising her eyebrow. "Sure, I'm sure I don't have anything planned!" I said, excitedly.

"Oh, like you ever have plans!" Chase exclaimed sarcastically, as I rolled my eyes.

"Well, we better get back to class. Five minutes until the tardy bell rings" said Anna, still holding hands with Mark as she walked away. Lindsey soon followed. Was lunch already over?

"Mind if I walk you to class?" Chase asked, as we walked down the hallway. "Um not at all," I replied shoving my books at him, "might as well carry my books while you're at it!" "Why of course my lady!" he said as he took my books and did a slight bow making me giggle. We reached the classroom door and he gave me my books back.

"I'll call you tonight, okay?" he questioned, just as the tardy bell rang. Great. "Yeah sure!" I said, rushing into the classroom.

The last three periods, including my free period, went by fairly quickly. Now it was time to face Mr Garner. What would he have me do? Why did he even pick me to help him in the first place?

I walked up to the door, nervous out of my mind. I took a deep breath and walked inside. I scanned the classroom and saw he wasn't there. I sat down in my usual desk and dug my iPod out of my bag. I looked through my albums and finally settled on The Beatles. I selected the song 'Eleanor Rigby', put my ear buds in, tilted my head back and closed my eyes, planning on waiting until he returned.

About half way through the song I felt an ear bud being pulled out of my ear. My eyes fluttered open and saw Mr Garner putting it up to his ear.

"Hmm...good choice. You like The Beatles?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Um..yeah. They're pretty good" I smiled up at him. He smiled back down at me and closed his eyes. We continued to listen to the song until it was over. He took the ear bud out and gave it back to me. I turned off the iPod and started wrapping the cord around as I asked "so...what exactly do you need me to do?"

He sat down at his desk as I gathered my stuff and walked to a desk closer to his. He looked around at his desk and finally picked up a pile of papers. "Just sort through these and put them in the correct class" he said, handing me the pile of papers.

I started sorting through the papers and quickly glanced up. I noticed his back was slightly turned, facing his computer. He clicked his mouse, stroking the slight beard he had with his thumb, looking at his computer with seep concentration. I wondered if this was how it was going to be for how ever long I was to stay after. Were we just not going to talk? I mean yeah...he did say I was only here to help him around the classroom...but still.... I would like to talk to him or something. As if he had read my mind he finally spoke up.

"So...Willow...tell me about yourself" he asked, still facing the computer.

"Well, sir, what would you like to know?" I questioned back. He turned around and faced me, leaning back in his chair, he tilted his head, "Alright.." he said slowly, "well, how old are you?"

"Just turned 17 a few weeks ago" I replied, "my turn."

"Your turn?" he asked confused. "My turn to ask a question" I replied, smirking.

"Alright, shoot" he said, looking amused.

"Hmm...well what's your favorite thing to do in your spare time?" I asked, leaning back in my chair.

"Well, I absolutely love to travel" he said. "Really? You don't seem like the traveling type.." I said amused.

"And what type DO I seem?" he questioned chuckling, making me slightly blush.

"Alright....my turn. Why do you blush so easily?" he teased, making my blush deepen.

"Uh...I j-just..um..." I stuttered. "Ha, don't answer that," he said, obviously sensing that I was embarrassed, "are you done sorting through those papers?" I nodded and handed them to him. We sat and just talked about different things like what I wanted to do once I graduated college, and where he has traveled and where he wants to go, and finally I pushed it a little.

"Well....Mr Garner you're getting pretty old...don't you think you should be settling down?" I asked, already regretting it.

He cleared his throat, "well..um..I don't think that is any business for a student of mine, but I guess when the...right girl...shows up in my life, I can then start thinking about settling down" he said, looking my straight in the eyes at the 'right girl' part. He looked uncomfortable, and I was really regretting saying anything. He cleared his throat again and got up from his chair, "well, it's getting pretty late. Wont your mom be wondering where you are?" "Actually, she's gone on a business trip for a month" I said, trying to read the emotions on his face. "Oh, well I should still get going. It was very nice..talking to you Miss Davis" he said, his face still unreadable. "Please, Mr Garner you can call me Willow..." I said, trying to get him to show something. He just picked up his stuff an started walking to the door. I grabbed my bag and followed him. When we got outside I saw that our two car were the only ones in the parking lot. He turned around and looked at me, "well I hope you have good night Willow.." he said, turning back and walking towards his car. I stood there, watching him until I finally turned and walked to my own car. I sat in the drivers seat and watching him drive off and started think...Why did I always have to screw things up?
