Chapter 24: "How Can Love Be So Powerful?"

It had been six days since Elisa and Demi had been admitted to hospital, Elisa had been responded remarkably well to everything Wilmer did to help her. A therapist had arrived at the hospital and spoken to the little girl, trying to figure out Elisa's feelings on the situation and if it would effect her in the future. They got the answers when Elisa had told the therapist that she had been hurt, but Wilmer would protect her: Wilmer smiled proudly at that.

Then, he had to see how she'd respond with an unfamiliar man in the room but when he came in she immediately shot back, jumping onto Wilmer while screaming loudly until nurses rushed in. The Hispanic man calmed the little girl with running his hands through her hair and telling her he'd protect her from all the danger in the world from that day forward and Elisa believed him. She looked up to the man like a daughter would to her own father. In disbelief, the therapist that had been monitoring Elisa told him how many younger girls that had been through a traumatic experience didn't take well to ANY man being around them, even their father so she was surprised that Elisa looked for Wilmer in times of need.

Over the course of the week they'd learnt that although Elisa wasn't comfortable with any male around her accept Wilmer and Steve she'd learn to gain it slowly with the help of Wilmer. She'd stopped cooperating with males that entered the room but with the older man's protection and words (that Elisa believed) he could slowly open her up to males. It was a slow process but it would work, also with Demi's affection and overprotectiveness she could do the same.

As for Demi, she'd become less dependent on the hospitals resources and was gaining her strength back at a quicker pace than six days ago which Wilmer was grateful for. He'd stayed in the room with Elisa and Demi, only leaving for an hour to shower and return back then sleep in the bed Wilmer easily threatened them to give him; of course, they obliged.

"When we get out of here, can me and momma go back to the beach? I loved it there." Elisa looked over her side of the bed that she wasn't connected to anymore as she'd become healthy enough to be discharged but allowed to stay with Wilmer and Demi. Wilmer would take her out a couple hours a day for exercise but she'd always rush back to Demi after and hour or two.

The man couldn't help but smile at the day they'd taken her to the funfair and the beach. It was the day Demi had found out what he did underneath being the biggest business man across America, owning most of it and having people in charge of his buildings 24 7 that was sprawled out across the world. She'd been so upset and angry when she found out he sold women yet she still kept a smile on her face for Elisa's sake and Wilmer couldn't help but smirk at the thought of how sexy Demi looked when she was angry at him. The image of the glare on her face made his pants tighten so he quickly shuffled around in the chair before thinking of something different.

"Yes, you can. You can go anywhere you've ever dreamed of sweetheart." Wilmer smiled from across the room, beside Demi before turning back to his phone. He was throwing out orders at his men, since he'd taken down the Russian Mafia he was back on top and his men still had to be trained once they returned back to California. So he done it from Demi's bedside. While Steve was out for a couple weeks the third in command had to be brought in but Wilmer still called all the shots around the Mafia Mansion.

"Thank you." Her attention went back to her iPad that Wilmer had got brought in for her since she'd been so attached to hers at the Mafia Mansion the morning before they left he thought she should have it to keep her occupied before Demi wakes and she seemed to love it. She'd watched almost every Disney film ever produced due to the time she'd spent on it but Wilmer knew not to allow her too long at once and not to let her have it all the time.

They'd become close over the course of six days, since Demi wasn't awake to take care of Elisa; Wilmer had taken on the responsibility and he almost knew that Demi would snort at all the stupid mistakes he'd make while taking care of her. However he couldn't help but keep worrying about how she'd react to him.
