Chapter 5: No Ryan !!!!

When the movie was done I started to head out the door.
"No don't go!" Ryan called after me.
"Why not? It's not like we are not going to see each other tomorrow." I replied half laughing.
"I'm reeeaaallly going to miss you!"
"I'm reeeaaallly going to miss you too. But I really have to get going. Love you, see you tomorrow!" I said while pecking him on the cheek.
"I love you too honey" he replied as I headed out the door.

The next day I went over to Ryan's house because it was Saturday and I wanted to surprise him. As I came up to the porch I saw a note on the door it read:

Dear Rose,
As you read this remember that I love you and always will and I hope you will understand.
My dad has to move for his work. He has to move to Chicago. So I have to go with him. I am in Chicago and missing you very much.
I hope you understand and know that I love you and always will. Please forgive me and text me everyday.

I can't believe he just left without saying goodbye. I flipped the paper and looked at the back.

P.s. I didn't say goodbye because I thought it would be to hard.

P.p.s I love you! haha! I'm going to reeeeaaaaalllly miss you. But FaceTime me everyday. Love you.

I started crying. How could he do this. *sniff, sniff. I can't believe it.

Later that day I was crying in my room when I heard a knock.
"Who is it" I called in between sobs.
"Its just me" Lilly called back.
"Come in" I said in between sobs.
She came in and sat down next to me on my bed. She pulled me closer to her and asked me what was wrong.
"Ryan left me and moved to Chicago because his dad had a job transfer. And he left without even saying goodbye." I said bursting into tears again.
"It's alright just call him and tell him how much you love him" she answered.
"Right now?" I asked
"Right now."
"Ok" I said while getting my phone out.
I dialed his number and waited for him to pick up.

"Hey" he answered.
"Hey"
"I'm, I'm sorry"
"It's ok I understand"
"Please forgive me"
"I already have, I just wanted to tell you how much I love you."
"I love you to. Um , I have to go my dad needs my help. but I really, really miss you." he said while hanging up.

I sat there is silence leaning on Lilly's chest for a minute then broke into a full on sob.
"Shhhh, it's alright I know it hurts" Lilly said in a soothing voice. "at least he didn't dump you. that at least means that he still loves you."
"Yeah I guess" I replied while sniffing back another sob.
After that we just sat there in silence for a while. Then at some point both of us fell asleep.

We woke up to the smell of moms pancakes. We both immediately sat up and shot towards the door and down the stairs. All of this while shoving and tripping each other just like we did when we were kids. All the way down I had a big smile then when we sat down I thought of Ryan and started crying.
"Hey,hey, I made pancakes this should be a happy time." my mom said while serving us out pancakes, "I heard about Ryan and I'm so sorry."
