Leinna's T.V. Time

I've finally got some time to myself. No one needs my help, payments are caught up, the kitchen is fully stocked, everything is clean, and Seth is out with his brothers, I'm good. Now I can get caught up on my shows.

Making a variety of snacks because I've missed a lot of episodes, I set them all down on the coffee table and get comfy on the couch in my loose t-shirt and pajama pants. As soon as I reach behind me, I feel nothing but the arm of the couch. Where the T.V. remote should be. Looking behind me, on the table with the food, and across the couch, I don't see it anywhere around me. Just when I got comfortable too.

Pouting, I ask myself, "Now where is that damn remote?" I get up and look on the T.V. stand, the side table, under the rug, under the couch, beneath the cushions, in the chairs, the kitchen, the dining room, and I can deduct that it's fucking nowhere to be found. It's on my DVR too so I can't just use the controls on the T.V. either.

Getting angry, I grab my phone and text Seth:

Do you know where the T.V. remote is?

I thought it was on top of the T.V.

It's not. Anywhere else?

Sorry Babe. That's the last place I remember putting it. I might have left it on the couch?

No, I looked. Thanks anyway. Love you <3

Love you too <3 See ya later.

Well that was no help. Shit. I turn to look again in the kitchen when I see Pop-Pop, our cat, looking me dead in the eye. With the remote in mouth. I narrow my eyes and slowly step towards him while speaking in a soft tone, "Pop-Pop, give me the remote and everything will be fine." Just as I'm about to take hold of it, he moves and runs away. "Hey!" I yell and chase him around.

Pop-Pop, being an agile cat, takes sharp turns which cause me to fall numerous times. I crash into walls, trip over my own feet, knock over almost everything in my path, and each time when I think I have him cornered, he manages to slip away from me. He climbs up shelves, slides beneath tables, turns behind plants, and I let flip everything to get out of my way.

Nothing but thuds, crashes, bumps, bangs, clunks, etc. can be heard aside from my constant yelling and cussing. I finally catch him in the middle of the torn up living room and take the remote out of his mouth. "YES! VICTORY IS MINE!" I scream to myself as I hold the remote high above me.

*P.O.V. Seth's*

I pull into the drive way after hanging out with my brothers for a bit. Hope Lei found the remote. She never did text me after that. I go up the walk way and unlock the door. With closed eyes, I announce, "Honey I'm ba-" I stop myself. Looking around, I see the house is completely trashed. Food is everywhere, glass bits are unavoidable to step on, tables and other furniture is flipped and shoved to random places, shelves hang to the wall for dear life, and in the middle of the living room sits Leinna on her knees holding Pop-Pop in one arm and the remote above her head in the other hand.

"The absolute hell is going on here?"

"Hey Hun..." She laughs nervously. Immediately after she says that though, the entire ceiling fan falls to the ground just behind her, making a cloud of dust come up from the parts of the ceiling it took down with it. Loose cords now hang in the stop. I just look at her questioningly and she says in return, "I've been...uh...busy..." I give her a disappointed glare. "I uh...found the remote..." Leinna states with shifty eyes.

I just hang my head and state as if it were an everyday thing, "I'll grab the broom and dust pan."
