In the beginning, when Ivan had first met Kai face-to-face, they were both subtle in their actions. Kai did what he needed to to continue living and Ivan did small jobs while keeping his powers hidden.
At this time, Ivan would come to the park to watch and hang out with Kai as or after he did some guitar playing for tips. They would tell jokes, have general conversations, and every now and then get kinda deep.Today was no exception. Ivan and Kai sat at the fountain as Ivan held an umbrella over head of them to stay dry from the rain. They settled with silence while listening to the drops hit the ground. Kai's mind was blank, but Ivan was having a battle within himself. He had been having this battle inside for the longest time now. Since he figured out about the powers he has to keep hidden.
Ivan cleared his throat - causing Kai to snap to reality - decided to ask the new friend of his for advice. "Kai. My powers are nothing too incredible, but...I can still get in deep shit because of them. How do I decide what I wanna do with 'em?"
Kai was quiet for a moment. He hummed a slight bit then turned completely to the side and sat criss-crossed on the fountain as he faced Ivan. "I can't easily answer that. But!.....I can tell you a story that might help?" Ivan nodded and Kai began.
" An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. 'A fight is going on inside me,' he said to the boy.
'It is a terrible fight and it's between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.' He continued, 'The other wolf is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.'
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, 'Which wolf will win?'
The old Cherokee simply replied, 'The one you feed.' "Ivan just sat and listened contently as Kai finished up. The story was good...great even...and actually very helpful. He chuckled - satisfied with Kai's advice - and nodded then thanked him. Kai gladly welcomed Ivan and laid his head on Ivan's shoulder as the two boys continued to watch the rain and Ivan was figuring out which wolf to feed.

The story that Kai told Ivan is a wonderful story in the Native American Indian stories. The tale is called Two Wolves. I love it and think it's actually a good story to tell for advice is a situation like this one that Ivan was in.
