Ugh I hate you guys lmfao, I can't leave you on a cliffhanger it makes me feel bad.
"But I believe there's more to this story." Sam's voice was low and quiet, maybe as if his heart shattered. "I don't think you listened to your voicemail. You were crying, just like you are now."
"I'm crying?" Colby brought his hand to his face and rubbed at his eyes and he realized, he was crying. He sniffled and rubbed his nose as the tears kept falling from his eyes, he had tried to stop it but nothing was working.
"Do you want me to come up or do you want to come down?" Sam's eyes had softened and his lips now held a sad smile.
"I'll let you come up since it's winter and you're probably freezing." Colby rubbed at his eyes as he opened his window and threw down a ladder he had for whenever he wanted to sneak out.
"Why do you have a ladder?" Sam asked as Colby brought his phone back to his ear.
"I sneak out sometimes." Colby shrugged as he hung up the call and let Sam put his phone away.
"Okay." Sam rolled his eyes and began climbing up the ladder. When he made it to the last step Colby grabbed one of his hands and helped him step inside. "Colby, what happened?"
"Um, Brennen.." Colby sat down on the edge of his bed and Sam took the moment to examine him. His hair was disheveled, his eyes were bloodshot as if he'd been crying for hours and his clothes were wrinkled.
"I fucking knew it, I'm going to beat his ass-" Sam's voice trailed off as he saw Colby's shoulders shaking, "hey.."
"I'm sorry." Colby's voice cracked as his lips wavered.
"Hey, it's okay." Sam kneeled in front of Colby and grabbed his hands, "I wouldn't be here figuring this out if I didn't care for you."
"What are we?" Colby found himself asking as he lifted up his head to meet Sam's eyes.
"What do you want to be?" Sam asked as curiosity shined in his eyes, Colby stared at the small smile that graced Sam's lips. Colby's eyes trailed from Sam's lips and back up to his eyes, Sam nodded.
Not knowing when it happened Colby's lips were suddenly locked with Sam's, kissing him. The start of the soft touch sent a strong feeling of warmth spiraling through his system. His eyes closed fearlessly, but the closure didn't let him see darkness, it instead created colors of fondness. Colby's tense nerves soon began to relax, his troubles, his pain began to melt away and the surroundings began to disappear leaving only him, him and Sam. This. This felt true. This felt good. This felt right.
To Colby's dismay they both pulled apart and stared into each other's eyes, breathing heavily. "I had to make sure."
"Make sure of what?" Sam held an almost unnoticeable smirk on his lips.
"I had to make sure I was truly falling in love with you."
