The fire inside the circle was still blazing wild. Black smoke continued to rise in the air. Everything was still chaotic. Uzina was dead, yes. But with her death was the death of another person; a lost friend, an old friend who thought that everything can be settled with vengeance. I am sad, honestly. Even though I’m a bit jealous with Ezra, I can see the goodness in his heart. Despite all those bad things he had done, I know that Augustus will still forgive him. One shall live and one shall die. For all I thought, it refers to me and Uzina. I never thought that it was Ezra.
A gigantic golden dragon suddenly swooped behind me. It was Augustus and his dragon. Augustus quickly dismounted his dragon and ran towards my direction.
“You’re alive!” I bellowed.
“Of course I am!” Augustus bragged then he chuckled. “Long story. Is she dead?”
“Yes. She fell on her own circle.”
“Great job.” Augustus tapped my back. “Where’s Ezra?”
“He’s dead too.” I said in a low tone. “He chose it. I tried to-”
“I understand.” Augustus interrupted. I can see the sadness and disappointment on his face. “Just like his father.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. Our fates are already written. We just have to accept it.” Augustus said. “Get far. I must reverse this circle.”
I almost forgot about the circle. I ran several feet away and watched as Augustus as he cast a spell and closed the circle. Blue blinding lights emanated in front of Augustus accompanied by some really thin, high-pitched noise. White light followed and burst out upwards, making the night look like morning.
Small amount of smoke crept from the location of the circle. But now, it was closed. There were no signs of the Rhyrid’s Circle anymore, just plain, unfertilized soil.
“We must get back to the guild to attend your wound.” Augustus suggested.
My arm was already numb. I can’t even raise the shield anymore because of the deep wound Uzina gave me. “Are they defeated?”
“The minions? Yes.” Augustus answered as we walk towards his dragon. “The moment Uzina died, her minions just popped out like balloons.”
“Oh, I see.” I muttered. “How about the Ravens?”
“Well, the Travians joined the battle. They already captured their rebels.”
“That’s great.” I exclaimed.
I called Opheila and together with Augustus, we flew back to the guild.
The guild was completely devastated. The walls were ruined, the front gate was destroyed, and the temple was black from fire. Just beyond the bridge, injured trainees were given right medications; tapola extract, and some acazixir.
Before I arrive on the bridge, someone charged at me. It was Lea. She ran towards me and immediately hugged me very tight.
“Ouch.” I said.
“Oh, I’m sorry!” Lea uttered. “I was just got excited seeing you alive.”
“If not because of the wristband, I would be dead.” I smiled.
“I told you it will protect you.” Lea chuckled. “Oh, you’re hurt. You must be attended.”
I looked at Augustus and he nodded.
My arm was bandaged and they gave me pill of acazixir. It instantly made my body strong like I can still fight another battle. Not far from us, I saw Elethor talking to my dad while Cody sits on his shoulder. They were laughing, like someone between the three of them cracks up some joke. Lea and I joined them.
