The world was burning around. Houses were burning and turning to ash. People rushing to either fight or find shelter to protect themselves. She saw a little baby crying helpless crying hoping for his mother to save him. She ran towards the baby and picked him up and gave him to his mother who was crying. She rushed to fight to a man violently coming her way. They started fighting, but she couldn't match his power.
Suddenly she heard the slashing sound of a sword and the man fell to his knees and collapsed, dead. As he fell, she saw a figure standing there with his eyes wide and breathing heavily. She smiled up to the figure and he gladly returned it but only for a split second. His face reflected horror and he quickly shoved her away and stood in her place. A sword slashed against his chest but that didn't stop him. He raised his sword and jabbed it right in the stomach of his attacker. The man collapsed and died. Her savior couldn't stand and instantly fell.
17 year old Zara knight woke up, sweating from the horrific dream she had just had. It was after sundown. She got up from her bed and walked to the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her curly dark red hair was dishevel and her amber eyes were swollen and bloodshot. Was I crying? she thought to herself .She had a quick shower before heading to the kitchen. She found her Mother, Diane, cooking dinner. Zara walked over to the platform to see what her mother was cooking and to her delight it was her favorite pasta.
"Thanks, mom!", Zara said whiled hugging her mother tightly. "I love the pasta you make".
Diane smiled and replied, "It'll be ready soon. Go do something except watching the T.V. and sticking to that phone of yours". The doorbell rang and Diane smiled. "It's Chase. Go and get the door. I invited him over for dinner".
Zara smiled great fully at her. She loved her mother dearly. Diane always knew what to do and Zara admired this quality of her mother. She thanked her mother and and went to open the door. Chase Williamson, Zara's best friend was standing on the porch with a flower bouquet in his hands. She thanked her mother a hundred times in her mind. Chase was the exact person she wanted to see right now. She could tell him about her dreadful dream and he would listen to her patiently.
"Are you gonna ask me to come in, Lazycat?".
Yes. that was what Chase called her. She had become incredibly lazy in the last two years and loved cats so Chase decided to call her Lazycat.
"Are you for real? since when did you start asking permission to come in?", Zara inquired. Chase just ginned and walked in, shaking his head and smiling. He gave Diane the flowers and Zara quickly transferred them to a vase.
"Why don't the two of you go to Zara's room till dinner's ready? Might take a short while", Diane suggested. Zara and Chase headed up to Zara's room. Zara pulled him in and locked the door.
"Sit down," she commanded. "I need to tell you something." Zara had no idea from where to start with her story. The scene from her dream was being repeated again and again in her head and she was terrified. She wanted to tell him but couldn't; she was too afraid. There's nothing to worry when you see a dream once but when the same thing is repeated every night you are definitely to be scared.
"What is it? You look pale like you've seen a ghost or something." Chase said, breaking her out of her thoughts.
"I haven't seen a ghost but this terrible than that.", she started. "For the past month I've been getting these dreams like where the world's burning and everyone's dying. Trust me when I say the same dream over and over and over again for a whole month".
"Calm down, Zara. Maybe you might've just read something or seen a movie where all of this is just happening and it's stuck in your head."
"No, Chase! I feel like all of this is real! Real. It's gonna happen, I know it but I don't know why?"
Chase sighed and Zara knew that she had convinced him.
"We'll figure this out later sometime. Tomorrow at library maybe.", Chase said.
"Hey, I need to tell you -", Zara was cut short because her mother called them down for dinner. " never mind. I'll tell you later". Chase nodded in response and the went to the dining room.
