Chase's parents were leaving town for some business trip so he had no worries as to when to be back home. He had decided that he'd come by the library early than he told Zara and do some research on dreams. He had no clue why, but Zara told him did strike him odd but not untrue. He was a bit reluctant believing her at first but then the look on her face convinced him she wasn't lying.
The local library was his favorite place in town apart from Zara's house. He didn't live far away from the library; it was only a ten minute walk. In the morning he filled his empty stomach and started for the library. The air outside was cold and as he opened the front door a cold dash wind hit him. He quickly shut the door and pulled a jacket over his t-shirt. Note to self; never step out without a jacket, he thought. If the weather was this cold then there was no way Zara was making it on time. She was probably sleeping curled in her blankets like a cat.
The walk to the library was short. He opened the library door and walked to the place by the window where he usually sat. He was perhaps he was a step or two away when he saw something he couldn't believe. He was probably imagining it. He had to; the possibility of this happening was highly unlikely. Chase couldn't believe his eyes. Zara freaking Knight was on time, actually before time. She saw him and waved at him. he walked over to the table. He was still surprised.
"What's wrong? You look like you've just seen a ghost", she asked.
"I didn't see a ghost but I saw you", he said. "You being early is stranger than the Bermuda triangle".
"What?!", she yelled, confused. They got a few glares form the others in the library. Zara dropped her voice to a whisper and continued, "I can be early sometimes, it's not like I'm always late".
"I've never seen you early even if you were excited about something".
"Hahaha! That's very funny, Mr. Williamson", she said with sarcasm.
"I'm a talented comedian".
"Yeah, whatever", she rolled her eyes. Chase gave her an amused look. "Let's do the thing we came here to do". Chase walked to the nearby shelf a pulled out a book. He sat down by the table and started going through the pages. The two of them went through some books for a long time but still couldn't find what they needed. They were on the verge of giving up when Zara's phone rang. She received the call with smile but it was gone instantly. This roused panic in Chase but he calmed himself.
"What's wrong?! I'm coming straight home!", Zara shouted, ignoring all the glares being shot at her. She hung up and Chase saw that her face was white with horror and fear. She looked at him and "I need to go. Bye" was all she said and ran out leaving the library. Chase didn't waste any time and he followed her.
She had never done this. She told him everything but now she had decided otherwise. He saw her running across the street. He called out her name but she didn't respond; she just kept running. Chase cursed and ran after her.
Zara hadn't stopped until she had reached her house. "Zara, wait!", he shouted as Zara slowly stopped. "What's wrong? Tell me!". Zara was now standing in front of the main door. Chase could tell that she was dreading going in, she was scared of what she would find if she entered her house. Chase reached her, he turned her so that they would face each other. Zara's amber eyes were filled with fear and sadness. He couldn't see her like this, after all she was his best friend. "Tell me, lazycat. Please." he pleaded in a soft tone. She didn't say anything but turned to the door to open it. She went inside beckoning Chase to follow her. They walked very silently to the living room.
And what they saw inside horrified them to the core.

Hello!
I don't really have anything to say because I don't really know what it is that i I should write in A/N's. Hope you excuse me for that because I'm actually very quiet and socially awkward.
Anyways, What do you think they saw inside?
And another thing: this chapter will have maybe 3 or 4 parts.
