Marinette woke up early on Sunday, regretting everything that happened last night. Tikki was especially restless. Kwamis act weird when their owners get ill or if they're dead.. "What happened, Tikki?" Mari would say, but Tikki would zoom around the room with panic, then curl up into a small ball on Mari's desk. "Adrien's dead!" Tikki shouted at her. Marinette took a step back. "W-what? Are you joking?" Mari cried. She couldn't think why. Oh yeah, she straight-up refused his proposal. Of course. "Why'd you think I was like this all along?" Tikki was panicking and all day Mari tried to calm her down with cookies. "I'm going to his house. And I don't expect you to tag along. You've been enough trouble, Tikki." She ran downstairs and out of her house, locking it. Tikki was trapped. Oh no. Mari was gone. Tikki was only allowed to call other kwamis only if there was an emergency. But there was. So Tikki called Plagg. "Come on. Pick up the phone, Plagg." Tikki bit her lip. Finally, a squeaky, annoyed voice came on. "What?" "Do YOU NOT KNOW?! Adrien's dead." Tikki practically screamed at him. Plagg was tired, and hadn't noticed. He sat up, and threw the camembert he was eating to one side. "NOOOO!" Squeaky Tikki's antennas waved wildly over the noise. She hung up and thought of a plan.
Meanwhile, over at Adrien's house, Nathalie was rushing back and forth, not knowing whether to let her in on the secret or to shut her out. Gabriel Agreste was wearing a black suit, stroking a picture of Adrien when he was a baby. Nathalie came rushing in and said breathlessly, "S-sir, there's a girl outside, saying she wants to meet Adrien. " Gabriel Agreste thumped his huge fist onto the coffee table and stormed out. Nathalie walked after him, like a little faithful dog. He opened the door to see Marinette talking. "Adrien is not here." He shut the door. But Marinette didn't give up. She ran to the side of the house and climbed a little fence. What she saw shocked her. Adrien's body lay limp and still. "Adrien!" Marinette cried, tears rolling down her cheeks. Adrien slowly opened one eye. "You're alive!" Marinette hugged him. Adrien hugged her back, and the warmth he felt gave him strength. Enough to stand up with Marinette's help. He smiled back at her and she said to him. "Will you go out with me, Adrien? I am so sorry. And yes, in a few years I will marry you. "Then they looked in each other's eyes and didn't stop gazing...
