It was 11:00 and Saturday, but Mari was bored, slouched on her bed and scrolling through her Instagram feed.
Marinette was sad. She saw people kissing and trying out the Chapstick Challenge. Tikki was downstairs, because her parents were out for their 25th anniversary. Tikki was like a cat in a shop full of mice. Tikki's mouth was stuffed with cookie crumbs. Marinette was tired of seeing people's bios filled with stuff like: Taken💓❤️ "Let's go to Alya's place. Nino will be there and we can play video games n' stuff." Mari grabbed Tikki's tiny foot. She squealed in indignation.

"Sorry, Tikki, we're going to the skate park." The skate park was about two streets down, but Mari couldn't be bothered to walk there so she took a cab. When she arrived, she saw no girls. Only guys with tattoos on their arms and gold chains. This was a bad idea thought Mari. She turned round to face Adrien. She turned red in the face and her hair was a mess! Did she brush her teeth this morning? Oh no her breath smelled he's gonna die and it's gonna be all her fault!! These were only one of many thoughts in her head. "Hey. Wanna do the Chapstick Challenge with me? Great! We'll do it at my place. See you at 2. I'll get the chapsticks." Marinette opened her mouth to speak to see him go. Marinette rushed back home, texting Alya.
BFF: What's up and where r u? Mari: I'm on my way home and I have BIG NEWS!!!! BFF: Girl that's great! Now tell me! Mari: I was at the skate park and I saw Adrien there! Marinette ran back home to see Alya standing at her front door. "How did you get here so quickly?" "Took a cab." Marinette turned her keys into the front door and they ran upstairs to Mari's room. "Okay. What time did Adrien say to meet you?" Mari said nervously, "Adrien told me to meet him at his house at 2, I think. I'm not sure I forgot." Alya thought quickly and dialled Adrien's number. "Girl, how can you forget?" Suddenly, a voice said, "Hi. What's up?" Mari hid under the bed, terrified. Alya laughed and said, "The sky, obviously. Mari forgot what time she was supposed to come round your house. Aaaaaanyway, her phone battery died so I called you." A few seconds later, Adrien replied, "Uh, 2. I gotta go. It's 1:30 plus I need to go shopping with the gorilla for chapsticks." Alya hung up. "It's 1:30?!?? Okay, we have half an hour! Let's go through your clothes," Alya chucked nearly all of her clothes onto the floor. "Ooh, this looks nice." Alya said, pointing to a short pink dress. She searched through some shoes and came across a pair of pink high heels. "This pink bow would look nice in your hair. Put them on. Oh, and these black tights too. Mari put them on. "This dress is a bit short and tight. " Alya sighed and gave her a lecture as she zipped up the back. "You look beautiful. Now sit down in front of the mirror and close your eyes." Mari did as she said. Alya brushed pink gold blusher on her cheeks, stroked eyeliner and light pink lipstick. "I forgot. Do you have pink eyeshadow?" Alya asked. Mari nodded and showed her. Alya quickly put that on and straightened Mari's hair. "Your hair looks so long!" Alya exclaimed. Marinette felt it and agreed. "Now let's go. Remember, walk with your head high and your shoulders back. And always smile." Marinette nodded as they walked out of the house towards Adrien's.
