Chapter 4: Murderous Voices In My Head

(Y/N) P.O.V

Kuro's been acting weird after we left the festival at school. Something's wrong. I just can't put my finger on what... Ugh! Why can't I figure out what's going on?! If I don't sort this problem out, I'll never be able to connect to Kuro properly, as a person! I struggle to get to sleep as think about what Kuro's expression was like at the festival. Damn it! Why can't I do anything?! I'm a horrible Eve! The worst!
Then, kill him.
I sit up. "What was that?!" I exclaim, looking around. Kill him, (Y/N). It's the only option.
Why am I hearing voices...? It's not a voice that I can recognise or is familiar...
You have to kill him. He is not your friend, nor boyfriend. He's a monster.
I frown.

I close my eyes and tears roll down my cheeks.

I won't kill her. I can't kill her. If I do, I'll never forgive myself. Then a piece of paper floats into the living room from her bedroom. "What is that?" I pick it up and read through it.

"K-Kuro." A voice says behind me. I turn around. "(Y/N)? What's-" I gasp as I see a gun in her trembling hand. Shaking, she slowly lifts the gun up and points it at me. I look at her face, beads of sweat rolling down her face and tears streaming down her cheeks. "(Y/N)... Are you... Going to try to kill me...?" She closes her eyes. "I-I'm s-sorry, Kuro..." She apologises in a shaky voice.

I guess you'll have to kill her in defence. You've got no choice.

Shaking, she presses the gun to her chest. I gasp. "No, don't!" But I was too late. She had already pulled the trigger. As she falls to the ground, I feel a pain in my chest. A pain of sadness. I fall to my hands and knees, tears streaming down my cheeks. I bury my face in her chest and cry. Then, the door slams open. "Nii-san! What happened?" I look up. "Lawless..." I say through tears. He looks at (Y/N) and gasps. "Who... Who did this...?" I look away. "S-She killed herself..." I look at him. "What were you even doing here...?"
"We were outside the apartment, then we heard a gunshot coming from your place, so we rushed up here." I pick her up. "Let's go to the hospital, before it's too late." Lawless and Licht nod. We run out of the apartment. I look at (Y/N). (Y/N)... (Y/N), why? Please, (Y/N)... Please be alive... Please, I need- I need you...
