(Time skip- In the hospital)

I sit in the waiting room with Lawless, Licht and Mahiru, Mahiru crying on my shoulder. I put an arm around him and stroke his head. "It's ok, it's gonna be fine. Don't worry, Mahiru." He nods, still crying. Lawless looks at me. "Do you think she's still alive?" He asks. I shrug. "I sure hope so." Lawless nods and looks down. Licht nods. "Don't worry. She'll definitely be alive. She's a strong person." I nod. "Thanks. That makes me feel better." Licht smiles. "Sure." Then, a doctor comes in. "Which one of you are the closest to Miss (Y/L/N)?" I stand up. "That would be me." The doctor nods. "Would it be alright if you come with me, young man?"
"Oh, uh, sure..." He beckons me to come with him. "Follow me, if you will." I nod and follow him. He leads me into a ward full of sick and hurt patients. What happened to all these people...? "Uh, is (Y/N) in this ward...?" I ask. The doctor nods. "She is." He leads me to the end of the room. I gasp as I see (Y/N) lying on the bed, wearing an oxygen mask and she's asleep. "(Y/N)..." I turn to the doctor. "I-Is she alive?"
"Fortunately for us, yes. The bullet just missed her heart and lungs." He replies. I sigh in relief. "I'm glad to hear that." The doctor nods. "Is it alright if you stay with her until she recovers?" "By all means."
"Thank you." Then he walks off. I turn to (Y/N) and sit down on the seat next to her. I look down and stay quiet for a while, before turning my head to her again. I hold her hand. "(Y/N)... Why did you shoot yourself? I don't understand. I'm glad you're alive, though. I don't know what I'd do if you died." I press my lips on her hand then sigh, circling my thumb on her knuckles. "(Y/N)... I don't know why I'm asking this, but... What do you think would happen if we weren't by each other's side? I mean, it's because I can't live without you. I've always wondered if you felt the same way, but from what just happened..." I sigh. "Doesn't matter anymore. I'll still love you." I look down, then she starts coughing. I gasp and stand up, putting a hand to her cheek and stroke it, trying to calm her down. "(Y/N). (Y/N), calm down. It's ok. I'm here." Tears stream down her face. She stops coughing and I wipe her tears away with my thumb. I take her hand in both of my hands and press it against my forehead. "It's ok, (Y/N). Everything will turn out in the end. I promise." Then her hand twitches, causing me to look at her. Her hand squeezes mine and her eyes slowly open. Her gaze meets mine. "K-Kuro...? I-Is that you...?" She says in a weak voice, taking her gas mask off. I nod. "That's right. It's Kuro. It's me." Tears form in her eyes and I look confused. "What's wrong?" I ask. "I-I'm sorry. This is all my fault. You guys are worrying for me for no good reason... Why didn't I just die...?" I shake my head. "No, no, don't say that. Nothing's your fault. Of course we'll worry for you. You worry for us. We worry for you. That's what friends do, right? That's reasonable enough. Especially, if you died, I don't know how I would live. Sure, I may be immortal, but my life is incomplete without you." She blushes through tears. "W-Why, though...?"
"'Why'? Why what?"
"Why do you guys like me? And who would love... This mess?"
"Me. I would."
"Kuro..."
"(Y/N), of course we like you. You're a kind and caring person. The type that you are is very rare, and that's what makes you unique." She smiles and I wipe her tears away. "You're one to talk..." She jokes. "You NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) vampire." I roll my eyes. "Yeah, I love you too(!)" I sigh. "Anyway, how're you feeling?" She shrugs. "I don't know." She looks down at her chest. "My chest hurts a little, though." I nod. "It will. They probably did surgery on it. You know, to take the bullet out." She looks away. "What's wrong?" I ask. "I'm so sorry, Kuro. This is all my fault. I don't know why I-" I cut her off by putting a hand to her mouth. "Shut up. You know it's not your fault, so stop apologising, ok?" I take my hand away from her mouth. "Kuro..." I sit down on the seat next to her. "(Y/N)..."
"What's wrong?"
"I... Want to ask you something."
"What do you want to ask?"
I sigh and look down, then look back up at her. "(Y/N)... Did you hear a strange voice in your mind?"
She gasps. "Yes..."
"And is that the reason why you're here?"
She shrugs her shoulders. "Sort of."
"What do you mean, 'sort of'?"
Her eyes glisten with tears. "I keep hearing a voice that kept telling me to kill you, and I didn't want to, so instead I tried to kill myself..."
"I heard a voice as well."
She gasps. "R-Really?" I nod. "Yeah. It told me to kill you as well." I sigh. "(Y/N)... If you had to choose... What would you choose? Life? Or death?" She gasps, then sighs. "I would choose death, but then it's more likely and better for me to choose life."
"Oh? And why's that?"
She smiles. "Because of you and my friends. I practically think of my friends as family, since I don't have any. So, they're more valuable to me, more than anything, like you, Kuro."
I nod and stand up, putting a hand on her head. "Good for you, (Y/N). I'm glad you think that." Then I kiss her forehead. She nods. "Thanks, Kuro." She looks down, then looks back up at me. "Kuro."
"What is it?"
"I... I love you, Kuro."
I nod. "I love you too, (Y/N)." I lean in to kiss her, but she kisses me first. I'm glad she's alive, though. I don't know what I'd do if she wasn't...
