Tobias POV
I wake up before tris. she's sound asleep cuddled in a ball into my side. I look at her and smile. she's so beautiful and I just don't see how she doesn't see it. I lay my head back down when she wakes up. "goodmorning" she says "goodmorning sweetheart" I say smiling. she smiles back and gets up.
I follow her into Taylins room. she goes over and looks over Taylins crib. Taylin looks up and smiles at her. she smiles back at her. I go and wrap my arms around tris waist. she whispers "she does like me" I smile at her words. she goes to Toby's room and he grabs his teddy bear that tris gives him. She walks out of the room and goes to the living room and sits on the couch. I sit next to her and wrap my arms around her shoulder. I put in a movie and her phone starts ringing. "Hello..... Yeah why...... It's it bad news or good....... Ok I'll be over in 5." Tris says into the phone.
"Who was that?" I ask.
"It was Christina" she says and I nod. She grabs the keys and walks out of the door. I stay home because they probably want to talk alone.
I turn on the tv and watch 'the hunger games'. I watch the whole series. The last one ends when tris comes into the house. She comes over and sits beside me on the couch. She lays her head in my lap and says "we'll it was bad news". I look at her.
"What was it?" I question
"Will got shot in the leg but he's fine now he's just resting." she says with a small sigh.
"We'll do you want to watch a Disney movie and cuddle?" I ask. she nods her head. I put in finding nemo and grab a blanket. I put the blanket around me and ties and start the movie.
Halfway through the movie Toby starts crying. I get up and get him and taylin and take one of the cribs in the living room. I put them both in there and go sit back down. After the movie ends I go and get something to eat.
The baby's are sound asleep and so is tris. I take tris up to her room and I just keep the baby's with me in the living room.
*** 16 years later ***
I turn on the news and call tris into the living room. Toby and Taylin are sitting on the floor watching the news too.
"We have just been informed that all 16 year olds boy and girl are to pick between 5 different societys. They have to go through this aptitude test that tells them which place to go. These places are called factions." I look at tris and she looks at me. A map shows up on the screen it shows where all the factions are. We're in dauntless and so is the rest of the gang.
I turn off the tv and just stare at it. "Dad what does that mean?" Taylin asks.
"It's nothing sweetie. We'll explain later." I say to her and kiss her forehead.
I think to myself so this is what life is going to be like from now on.
"Kids can y'all go to y'all's rooms me and your mom have to talk about some things." I say to them. They get up and walk to the play room.
"What if they don't pick dauntless? what would we do?" Tris asks.
"I don't know but we have to love them no matter what" I say. She nods and hugs me. I hug her back.
"Come on let's go explain to the kids." I say. She grabs my hand and we walk to their rooms.
Taylin will you please come I'm Toby's room we need to explain something to y'all" tris says and starts making car noises with his mouth.
"Okay mom" Taylin says.
Taylin comes into the room and tris starts to explain "okay so there's these things called factions. They are 5 different society's. You will take a aptitude test which tells you if your going to be in dauntless: the brave or erudite: the intelligent or amity: the peaceful, candor: the honest or abnegation: the selfless. Y'all will take the rest in two days when you turn 16. We are in dauntless right now so just remember what ever you pick we will always love you." Taylin and Toby both hug her then come and hug me.
** 2 days later**
"Taylin eaton" the announcer calls. She walks up to the bowls and slices her hand she holds it over the dauntless bowl and I smile. The blood drops over the coals and all of dauntless whop and holler.
"Toby eaton" he calls. He puts his hand over the dauntless bowl too and let's the blood drop over the coals. We all head back to dauntless on the trains.
They jump to the roof and all stand in a bunch. "Okay I'm am going to be your dauntless leader and so is she. No what you have to do in order to get to the bottom is jump over this edge." I say.
"What's down there" someone says.
"We'll why don't you find out" tris says. All the people jump off then tris goes then me. Me and tris went through our fear landscape and figured out we only had 4 and 6 fears. "Okay I'm four and this is tris" I say
"Four? You mean like the number?" And candor asks.
"Yes like the number candor. what's your name?" I say right in her face.
"E-e-emily" she squeaks out.
"We'll I advise you to keep your mouth shut" I say and turn on my heel.
After the first few days none of the initiates do to good but the dauntless born do good. At the end of the third stage all the initiates(which was 9) except 5 stay in dauntless. In dauntless born (which was 8) all stay but 2 stay. Those two were Alice and Lauren.
They all got their own apartment and none of them were divergent.
