"Are you serious? For how long? Where-"
I knew how Micah was feeling. I didn't want me to leave either. "-I'm going to the Capital. And . . . I'm not coming back, Micah."
"No. You're lying!" he screamed. "NO!
"I wish I was. But that's not all." Then came the hard part. "Micah, I'm not who you think I am.""Who are you then?" he whispered in disbelief. His heart was definitely broken on the inside. I didn't want to break it any more, but it had to be done.
I took a deep breath. "I know you won't believe me. . . but I'm Nia."
"Now, I'm sure you're a liar! The princess died! You admitted it yourself! Ni- I mean- Amber, I thought I could trust you."
"I know what I said. But I was fibbing then. I couldn't blow my cover when I arrived. Then this kingdom would be in mortal danger. Don't you see!"
"No, Amber." He said, the tone in his voice calming down. "I still don't believe you. Why would the heir to the throne come here, the poorest town in the kingdom? It just doesn't make sense."
I sighed. I predicted he wouldn't believe me. "Well, I don't care if you don't believe I'm the true princess Nia. I just wanted you to know that I'm leaving. For good."Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes. My mind couldn't take him yelling at me any longer. I jumped off the concrete and ran. I didn't know where I was going or what I was going to do when I got there, but I had to get away from Micah. I couldn't bear to see his broken heart and hear his angered voice any longer.
I couldn't see a foot in front of my feet. Tears fogged my vision. Next thing I knew, Sonya was holding me, brushing my hair with her hand and drying my tears.
