Truth or Dare

Chase, Kiam, Melanie, and I sat in the center of Manda's living room as we waited for her to come out of the kitchen. Although I've been here a lot of times, Manda's house never seemed to fail at impressing me. Her living room walls were a baby blue, the sofas were white and sat in the middle of the room. There had been bookshelves lined against the walls, and there was also a plasma tv in the center right about the fireplace. It was pretty huge. Next to the sofas were little tables with tv controls, books, and knick knacks. It was quite stunning compared to mine. All mine had were brown walls, brown sofas and a tv.
Chase and Kiam were talking happily about who they were going to ask out for the dance that was nearing next Friday. Sadly, nobody has asked the popular boys sister. Melanie looked towards me, she obviously wanted to spark up a conversation. I heard she is pretty nice. After a few minutes of small talk with Mel, I found out she hates to be called Melanie, and she has no brothers or sisters. I also found out she once had a huge crush on Matthew. I almost gaged at the thought of someone liking my obnoxious brother. I told her to tell him, and if he is rude I'll kill him. She laughed and told me a whole bunch of things that nobody will ever like her. Who wouldnt like her? She wasn't ugly, she was actually quite pretty with shoulder length voluminous black hair and gorgeous hazel eyes that were the color of a sunset. She was petite, a little shorter than me, and she had a cute button nose. Her skin had just a little tan. She seemed to be blushing every time I said something about Matthew. So instead I told her I'd talk to my brother for her. She smiled and nodded, then giving me a hug. After a few more minutes, Manda appeared in the room holding three huge bags f chips, two bowls of popcorn, and 4 giant chocolate bars. I was attacking the chocolate first. Manda sat down in the circle and threw one of the bags of chips at Chase. She smiled at him, and he gave her a shy smile back.
"So who are you taking to the dance?" she asked Chase who was munching away on the potato chips. He looked up at her with his mouth full. Chase has baby blue eyes and blonde hair, high cheek bones, and freckles lined across his face. He was quite handsome. He was built, but not as built as Kiam. "No one," he chuckled and continued eating.
"Yeah, who'd want to take him, he's a pig," Kiam joked. He shouldn't be talking because he was almost done shoving a chocolate bar in his mouth. Kiam has bouncy brown curls that wandered free, covering his brown eyes. He wasn't ugly either. He was bigger than Chase, and had a scar on his left arm. Chase punched him lightly in the shoulder.
"He's just mad I'm hot," Chase smirked a half smile and was already crumpling up the chip bag. I grabbed a bar of chocolate, and took the other one, carefully sliding it into my
book bag. Midnight snack haha! I opened the wrapper and began munching on the delicious milk chocolate. It was like heaven in my mouth since I haven't had much chocolate lately. Plus, this one had nuts! "Hot, yeah right," Melanie scowled at Chase and began to pick at her fingernails. I could tell she didn't want eye contact with anyone since our talk. She was a shy girl, and very vulnerable. You could break her heart just by telling her something rude, or giving her the finger.
After a few moments of us arguing if Chase was hot or not, Manda's doorbell rang and she got up quickly to go answer it. "Hey guys," she said with a small smile. "This is Vincent, I thought I'd invite him since he's new," Manda smiled cheesily and you could see all her teeth. She gestured for him to sit. Vincent's hair was unkept and his green eyes scanned the place like he didn't know what to do.
"So where are you from, Vincent," she said in a flirtatious voice. I want to know why the hell she is flirting with him. He gave no answer, just shook his head and stared at me. I felt my face redden and my heart beat faster. Manda grumbled and crossed her arms. "How is it being rejected?" Kiam joked playfully. "Feels real good," Manda rolled her eyes and looked at the crumbled bags on the floor. She scowled and picked up the mess before returning with a bottle of something, and a few small glasses. She set them on the table next to her. Oh goodness. It's Tuesday, and she wants to do shots, this girl must be crazy because there is no way I am drinking straight vodka. "You guys wanna play a game?" she smiled to everyone as if she was innocent. "What game?" Mel asked in a state of confusion, looking at the vodka then back to Manda. A smile appeared on her lips, "Truth or Dare."
Everyone nodded except me, who was still nervous because Vincent was still looking at me. What's his
problem? My eyes scattered around the room hoping to find something to keep my mind off of it, but I just couldn't find anything. She began pouring the vodka into the small glasses, handing one to everyone.
"Okay," Manda said and proceeded to close her vodka cap, it was decided that she would start first.
"Kiam, truth or dare?" she said, her eyes lighting up as she said his name. Gosh, doesn't she know she has a boyfriend?! "Truth," he said casually while picking at his fingernails and ignoring her stares. "Is it true you dated Melanie?" Manda asked and cocked her head towards Melanie, who was now the color of a cherry. He let out a sign and rolled his eyes, "Yeah."
"Mmm.." Manda smiled and Chase laughed hysterically and he ended up getting punched in the arm by Kiam. I glanced over at Vincent who was now cross legged staring at the floor beneath us.
About a half hour later everyone except me and Vincent was on their fourth shot of vodka. They were getting pretty tipsy. "Com on' Stephy, ya gotta drink it," Chase slurred to me. His breath smelled like straight vodka, he laughed hysterically and rolled around the tiled floor. "Youre like my uhh, pet chicken," Kiam laughed and grabbed my shoulder rocking me. Am I able to call the cops and report harassment, because this was ridiculous. Vincent looked at me with a sad smile. "Pet chicken?" I rose my eyebrow at Kiam who was licking his hand now, proclaiming that it needed salt. "Com onn Steph drink it ya baby," Melanie handed me the glass and her tiny hand was shaking as I grabbed the small glass."I'll do it if you do," A voice said, and I had turned my head to realize it was Vincent, his voice was rather sexy. He had a slight British accent when he talked. "I don't drink," I rolled my eyes. I turned back to the rest, Chase and Kiam were now taking down their fourth and fifth shot, moving to the sixth. Melanie was passed out on the floor, drool appeared from the corner of her mouth. I snickered silently, and Manda began to sing Christmas jingles. Yes, because it was the middle of August and she was singing Christmas jingles.
"Santa Claus is coming to town!" Manda yelled in my ear and fell on her back and began laugh. I massaged my now death ear and turned to Vincent. Now i feel extremely left out. Peer pressure, you could say. I'm going to regret this later I gave him a slight nod and we grabbed the small glasses. I forced it down my throat. I felt the vodka slither down my throat, burning like fire, it had a rather disgusting taste. I finished it, and I felt an explosion of warmth inside of my stomach, I took a deep breath and filled the small glass with more. I drank the fiery liquid for the second time and Manda praised me as I wiped the remaining of my mouth with the back of my hand.
"So now!" Manda said grabbing my head in her arms, I finished my third one now and I was getting the buzz. But no way was I drunk. "I dare youuuu," she slurred impatiently, "To kiss dat boy!" she waved her index finger in a circle a couple of times before her finger landed on Vincent. My mouth opened, no way was I going to do that. Vincent looked confused as he rose one of his eyebrows, "Actually, I'm expected home!" I said nervously. I only lived down the street so I grabbed my bag and bolted out Manda's front door like the speed of light, leaving them in confusion.

I felt the warm water run down my back, I turned it up to hot as I felt the stinging. I can't believe Manda expected me to kiss the new boy. She must've been out her damn mind. I layed my head on my knees and waiting for everything to wash away. After my shower I dressed quickly in some gray sweatpants and a light blue pullover hoodie. I smoothed out my hair, brushed my teeth and headed downstairs.
I was quickly greeted by Matthews warm smile, be came stumbling down the stairs. "Hey," he smiled slyly. I smiled back at my brother, "Hi."
We talked for a few moments before I headed up to bed. I pulled the purple covers over me, and turned off my lamp, that was on a table at the end of my bed. I then fell into the darkness of slumber.
