"You take the pain I feel"

Stephanie's P.O.V.

She can't be serious.

I swear this woman is out of her mind if she thinks I want to be friends with this idiot again.

I'm not going to, I refuse to talk to him for the simple fact that he is crazy. I reject him. I slightly turned my gaze to Vincent, his jaw was clenched and his fists had been balled , veins popping from his pale knuckles. I took steps backwards and took his hand in mine, begging him with my eyes that things are going to be okay. My mom turned to me, "You are so rude! Clyde is gone for two years and he comes back. You cant even say hi?" She basically spat at me. My head shook in response and Vincent's hand tightened around mine. "Yeah, uh hey," I murmured under my breath trying not to have too much contact with him. Clyde got me off guard when he pulled me into a hug and Vincent's hand had been released from mine. "Get off of me," I groaned. He did as I said and released me from his arms. I didn't feel anything towards him, except fear. I didn't feel the tingles I got when Vincent touched me, and I hadn't felt happy around him. I am just glum and I feel like my heart is sinking everytime I see Clyde. I turned to my mom who seemed to be acknowledging his presence a little too much, she tossed a strand of brown hair back behind her ear. "Uhm, mom, I'm gonna go get a bite of food, Ill catch you later," I scooted past her, and Vincent followed after me. "Stephanie, don't you want to catch up with Clyde?" she spoke after me. I spun around on my heel, and connected my eyes with her then shifted my gaze to Clyde's blue eyes and back to hers. "I'd rather not," I said with venom in my tone and made my way to one of the food booths. Vincent walked on my side, and we stood in a comfortable silence.

"I thought the ice cream would fill you up," he said quietly. I chuckled, "I have quite a big appetite," I felt a smile reach my lips as his hand found mine, immediately tingles shot up my arm from the warmth of his hand. "Yeah, me to. I can eat a whole supermarket," a smile formed upon his lips.

We took our seats in the booth, across from each other and the waitress approached us with a bland expression. By the look of her she seems to be bored of the place. Her grey eyes had bags underneath, and her gray white hair was tied messily into a pony tail. "What can I get you kids?" She asked, her voice was rather scratchy. I turned to Vincent, and he was scanning the menu and I looked down to do the same. We both settled for chicken tenders, onion rings, and milkshakes. The waitress disappeared into the kitchen.

Soon after the waitress appeared from the kitchen with our food and drinks, then set it down. Before walking away I saw her give Vincent a quick wink. He smiled nervously and she left to go take orders from another table. I shivered at the woman winking at him and dug into the onion rings, since they are my favorite out of everything.

I took a bite off my onion ring, "Didn't know you were into older women," I smirked casually and swallowed the food. He rolled his eyes, which honestly was kind of cute. But then again, everything about him is cute. Although he is a creep. But he's a cute creep, I'm not sure if that makes sense. Vincent tore a piece of the chicken tender and stuffed into his mouth like a starving beast. I gagged and decided to try to spark up a conversation.

"So, why'd you move here?" I rose one of my eyebrows and he looked up. "Personal reasons," he responded and continued chewing. I crossed my arms and leaned back into the plush seat. "Like what?" I grinned. He hesitated, "I was set out to, get something," he said as calmly as possible. I could see the anxiety in his eyes. "Really, what? Maybe I could help you," I uncrossed my arms and moved in closer so my hands were folded together and I was just a a few inches away from his face. His face became reddened quickly, and his green eyes became cold. How does that even work.

"None. Of. Your. Business," he said cooly with venom in his tone. I grinned and gained my distance before positioning myself in a comfortable position.

"I'd like to know, why can't you tell me?" I said sadly and my smirk disappeared when shoved another piece of chicken tender into his mouth. Disgusting.

"Secret," he said mouth full. Has anyone ever taught this boy manners? "Hey, don't talk with your mouth open. That's gross," I scowled. "Like this?" he took another bite of food, "What's so gross?" he talked and I could see all the mush inside of his mouth. I get quite annoyed easily, so him doing this is really pushing my nerves.

I shrugged it off, and I know he's just doing this on purpose to get me annoyed. I'm not giving him that pleasure of winning. "Gross," I scrunched my nose. "Not anymore gross than you!" He chuckled playfully and took a sip at his shake. "I am not gross," my voice was flat. "Your looks are," he rose his eyebrow and grinned. I felt my cheeks get warm and anger boil inside of me.

He laughed, and pulled my cheek, making tingles going throughout my whole face. I took his hand and when he was off guard, I bit as hard as I could one of his fingers. He yelped in pain and I laughed before getting up and running out of the store. He left the money on the table from his wallet and chased after me.

I left the mall quickly and searched for a place to hide. I went behind a tree and caught my breath. I turned back and caught Vincent moving out of the mall, scanning the area for any trace of me. I laughed silently, and moved quickly away from the tree and running as fast as I could past him into the nearby park. He chased after me and I move faster until we reached grass. "When I catch you, I swear..." I heard him call out and I just laughed and proceeded to run, the oxygen emptying from my lungs. In an instant he grabbed my hand causing me to fall and him with me. I fell onto the ground and he came down with me. We rolled over a couple of times before he ended up on top of me. One of his arms on the side of my shoulder, and the other caressing his head.

He opened his eyes and those green eyes stated down at me. I caught my breath and laughed, he shortly laughed after me. I felt the heat rise to my cheeks and I'm guessing the same was for him since his face was slightly flushed. He moved his face down a little closer to mine, and my heart beat quickened without notice. His lips brushed mine, sending shocks through my numb lips, and I felt my eyes close.

"Hey, get a room! There's children here!" I heard a scratchy voice and I quickly threw him off of me. "Sorry, ma'am," Vincent said shyly. I crossed my legs and turned away from him.

"You're a fast runner," I smiled awkwardly to him. "No, you're just slow," he chuckled. I slightly smacked him on the shoulder.

"And, you're a tease," he winked at me before helping me up. I scooted closer so I was in front of him. He placed his hands on my hips, and I blushed. "Don't touch me," I took his hands off of me and winked. His face went into a scowl and he snickered slightly. "Now come on, I want to take you somewhere," he smiled and took my hand.

Surprisingly, I let him lead the way.
