Chapter ten { UNEDITED }
"You're the one that I want, the one that I need"
Unexpected.

Vincent's P.O.V
"I want that one!" Stephanie cried and headed towards the rack of dresses. They were lined up casually, it was like seeing a rainbow, only in dresses. Stephanie pulled out an aqua dress that seems as if it would reach her knees. It was just plain aqua but had white flora designs throughout. It matched her eyes. "Ew, you have horrible taste," Abby strolled towards Stephanie. She grabbed the dress and examined it closer. Stephanie scrunched her face and rolled her eyes. She was always cute when she did that. But then again, she's will always be a beautiful girl.
Two months.
I shook my head to rid the thought. Today I am just going to enjoy the day with her, although Abby is here. I'd actually rather be alone with Stephanie. But I'd rather not be selfish and just be happy I'm here. "What do you think?" Stephanie turned towards me.
"Your mom is right, you do have horrible taste," I chuckled. Stephanie snorted and put the dress back on the rack.
Moments later, Abby came with a white knee length dress and put it near Stephanie. The dress was sleeveless, and around the waist had been a white ribbon tied around it. It was semi puffy at the bottom, and it sparkled a bit. Stephanie's eyes opened in amusement and she grinned. "I think this will work," she grabbed the dress and hugged it. "I think it'll go great for the dance," I winked at Stephanie, and her face flustered. "Speaking of the dance, has anyone asked you?" Abby questioned Stephanie. "No, and I'm pretty sure a lot of girls asked Matty," Stephanie scowled. I'm thinking about asking her. I really don't want Clyde to get to her first.
Abby laughed at Stephs remark, "No one actually." Stephanie's mouth shaped in the form of an O, and her eyes were extremely surprised. "What?" Stephanie continued,
"I'm pretty sure Matty got asked by someone."
Matthew Taylor, one of the most popular kids in the school, hasn't gotten asked by anyone? I find that hard to believe to. "Well, he did say he was gonna ask someone," Abby said observing the rack containing multiple shirts. She pulled out a red one beaded with orange. I stuck my tongue out in disgust. Abby quit looking at the rack and we made our way out of the store.
"Im gonna head to some different stores, I'll see you at 5, okay Steph?" Abby said enthusiastically and Stephanie nodded as Abby strolled off into a different store. I stood standing next to her for a second and ran my hand through my hair. I then turned to her, "So, you wanna get some ice cream?" My voice trailed off. Her blue eyes connected with mine, well this isn't awkward. "Uhm, yeah!" She smiled like a child and walked away from me moving her bags back and fourth as she left me behind. I ran a bit to catch up to her. Once I did I caught my breath and by the time I realized it we were at one of the ice cream shops that stood in the mall. The tables were a cream color, and the walls consisted of a light peach wallpaper. We made our way towards the counter containing many flavors of ice cream. The server looked up at us as we stood in front of the barrier. His eyes seemed tired and his blonde locks were messy and pimples invaded his face.
"Can I help you?" the server asked. Clearly his name was Andy because it was written across a name tag that was stitched on his uniform. Stephanie glanced towards me and was urging me with her eyes to stop stalling and order already. "I'll have the pistachio ice cream with fudge, thanks," I quickly replied. Stephanie rolled her eyes and made her order of cookie dough ice cream and we waited patiently for him to prepare our ice creams. Once he finished I paid the amount and gave him a slight nod before we made our way towards one of the tables.
Stephanie quickly dug into her ice cream eating it like a mad person, while I slowly ate mine. The place was deserted and thank goodness there was nobody to see her scoff down the ice cream like a hungry monster.
She glanced up, "What?" she said with her mouth full. I realized I was staring at her for a long amount of time before she practically noticed me. "Oh nothing," I looked down knowing that scarlet red was invading my cheeks.
She stretched and then balled her hands into fists and set them onto the table calmly, "You're awkward," she slammed her spoon into her ice cream before looking back up at me. Her eyes were filled with confusion and annoyance. "What?" I scoffed.
"Okay, first you bring me cookies, then you ask for a date, you sit at the same table with me at lunch, and you basically stalked my house. What's up with you?" She snarled, her tone angry. I bit my lip, I had to make her fall in love with me. Sadly, those are the way things are and I can't break rules. However, now is not the time to tell her what's going on. Once two months are over, that's when I'll tell her. That'll be her eighteenth birthday. So for now, I'm gonna pull out sweet Vincent.
I caught her gaze, and her eyes softened a bit and she looked at me, expecting an answer.
"I like you," I smiled widely at her. She rose her eyebrow and a sigh escaped her lips.
"Whatever, just stay away from me after today okay?" She turned her eyes away and looked out the window of the shop which exposed the rest of the mall.
Her words broke my heart as soon as she said that. She can't be serious. But no matter what she says, I'll have to protect her, and stand my ground despite what she says. I sat straight up, "Nope," I smiled, and I relaxed my arm muscles. She scowled and got up to dispose of her ice cream cup, and I trailed behind her. She spun around, "Just stay away, okay?" She spat at me and walked a little faster. Why was she so bipolar? It's like she's two people and they constantly fight for her body.
I grabbed her elbow and turned her towards me, "What's your problem?" I snarled at her.
She frowned and looked away, "I don't know," her lips formed a straight line and blush invaded her cheeks. "Let's just go, okay?" She smiled and I nodded in response as we made our way out of the doors.
We chatted for a bit until we reached the middle of the mall. Although she did get angry, she was still a great person. It breaks my heart that I am the one that's possibly going to ruin her life.
Before we reached the exit of the mall, we caught sight of Abby and made our way towards her. She seemed to be talking to someone.
Familiar.
Abby turned to Steph and grabbed her into a hug. She pulled away,
"Can you believe he's back?!" Abby said happily and pulled her towards him. My eyes caught sight of my enemy, and I glared at him. He smirked casually.
Ventius and Celeste may just be right.
I might have to kill him.
Clyde.
