It was only a year ago that Stef Foster made the trip back home with her little girl unaware of what would come of it. Unaware if her family would forgive her, unaware if she would come to terms with who she was and unaware how she would feel seeing Lena Adams. All those questions had been answered within a few days of her arrival as she now looked to her wife who was opening up presents along with Callie and Frankie.
The two women had married only a few months ago and built a home right on the land of Stef's parents. It allowed the family privacy and to be able to help with the farm. The cop also followed in her father's footsteps by joining the Gatlinburg police force along with Mike and Lena went back to teaching even becoming the school Principal since her parents were well enough to run the store again. Plans of the big commercial mall that threatened to take over the town were halted for the next few months bringing a sigh of relief to everyone.
If you had asked Stef a year ago if her life would look like this she would not have believed you. Never did she think marrying Lena would ever happen much less did she ever think she would have another daughter. But she did and her and Callie had only gotten closer over the last year as Lena and Frankie had as well. The family blended well together, both girls were still active in the choir and Frankie had joined the 4H club with her grandfather. Learning to make jams with Lena and help with the pies had also become one of her favorite activities.
"You have become such a wonderful baker sweetheart." Lena said to her little girl who was rolling more dough and washing the cherries for the general store.
"Really? You think the pies and jams will be as good as yours mommy?"
Feeling her heart melt Lena's face softened as all she could do was hug the sweet girl who had called her mommy only once before. The slim woman thought Frankie said it by accident back then but right now she thought different.
"I think they will be even better bean." She winked as Frankie let the biggest smile escape her young face.
Callie on the other hand loved going to the shooting range with the cop and even liked riding around in the patrol car. It was safe to say she adored the blonde as they had many late night talks when the cop had come home from working late as
many of their conversations extended until the sun would rise."I don't know it seems like most of the boys my age are dumb or say stupid crap. Do they ever mature?" Callie asked Stef as they sat drinking warm tea on the sofa in front of the fire. The young teen had horrible cramps to the point she couldn't make it off the couch at nearly 3AM when Stef saw her hunched over after coming in from work. She had warmed up tea for her daughter and given her a much needed painkiller along with her favorite soft blanket.
"I have to say my love they don't. Well eventually but it takes time. But I don't want you to loose hope or anything like that because the world is much, much bigger then this town. Yes?"
"Yeah. I know." She said as Stef played with her long brown hair and stroking the side of her young face. "I don't plan to leave anytime soon though. I want to be close to you and mama and Frankie. Maybe go to community college until I figure out what I want to do. Ya know?"
"That's a plan sweetheart, and sometimes it takes time to figure out what you want to do. It's not always that easy but the world is yours. You can go as far as you want and me and mama will always support you, and you always have a place to come back to. I hope you know that baby."
"I do Mom. Thanks." She said as Stef's eyes widened for it was the first time Callie had ever called her that. Frankie had called Lena mommy a few times already in the past few weeks and that alone brought tears to both women. Never did the cop except the teen to call her mom but she had and it will killing her. With a big smile escaping her face Stef gently stroked her older daughters cheek once again.
"Good. Now how are those cramps feeling? Any better my sweetness?"
"Much. Thanks."
"For what honey?"
"For staying and talking. I know you had a long day."
"Cal, yes you are a teeanger but you are my little girl too. If I see you in pain or hurting know that I will always be there. Always and it's nice to see your face when I get off of work. Believe me you and your little sister are a site for sore eyes." Softly kissing the girl on the forehead Callie could only smile wide as she hugged the cop.
"I love you."
"I love you too honey. I love you very much. Goodnight my girl."
"Night mom." Hugging the cop tighter as Stef could feel tears form in her eyes at hearing the word again the young teen soon headed upstairs as Stef could do nothing but feel her heart explode.
Her and Callie had many nights like those and she had officially become her mom a few months ago for not only had Stef adopted Callie but Lena adopted Frankie allowing them all to become Adams Foster. It was almost like a fairytale to them and Frankie was more excited then anything to have two mom's.
As the two girls ran outside to make snow angels and Dana along with Stuart, Mike and Stef's parents helped prepare dinner the blonde could only grab Lena's hand as the two starred outside at the girls.
"I love those two so much." Stef said smiling as Lena couldn't help but let one escape her face as well.
"I know you do and they love you too baby. We all love you." Turning to face her wife Lena cupped the cops cheek seeing the emotion take over her.
"You all are my life Lena and you have no idea how happy I am. None. You have made me so happy this past year. Beyond words babe."
"I have some idea." She smiled placing a kiss on the blondes cheek as Stef let out a wide grin. "You have made all of us happy each and everyday. "
"I'm glad baby."
"Want to join them outside?" Lena asked.
"Sure my love." Squeezing her wife's hand the two headed outside to join the giant snowball fight the girls were having. As they giggled and chased each other Frankie ran into her mother's arms hugging her tightly.
"So you think we are home babygirl?" The blonde asked her little girl who smiled wide at her.
"Yes. Home forever mama. And it was always your home even if you left it. It was just waiting for you mama. Waiting for us."
"You know I think you're right baby. I think you are right." Planting another kiss on Frankie's forehead and winking at her the two ran back over to Lena and Callie to enjoy their first Christmas as a real family in their small town in Tenesesse.
