As both women enjoyed the music the choir sang memories of their time together flooded their minds with each passing song and moment. Stef couldn't help but notice Frankie trying to sing along regardless of not knowing the words as she held her closer, as Lena shared a few chestnuts with her daughter being fully aware that Stef was only a few seats down still unsure if she should say hi or not. It was only when the cop started to look around herself that she noticed Lena with a young brown haired girl who she assumed was her daughter by the way she had her arm around her. How long had she been sitting there and had Lena seen her? Either way it was ironic that they would both end up here together with both their babies enjoying the same show they use to as kids.
Stef knew she had to talk to Lena for even if the conversation didn't go well with her father, she had admitted it to her mother and the slim woman deserved to know. She deserved to know how she felt about her back then and possibly how she still felt. What was the worst that could happen? She couldn't imagine Lena blowing her off and being rude infact she couldn't really imagine anything for what in the hell was she so scared of? What was it? Clearly she didn't marry Jerry or anyone else for that matter. What had her life been like the last 15 years? Where did Callie come from? Had Lena ever lived her dream of being a teacher or running a school, had she gone to college? Had she ever really fallen in love? Stef didn't know and without realizing how much she was starring Lena soon looked over and their eyes locked. Feeling completely embarrassed at being caught the cop let out a small smile as Lena returned one feeling equally embarrassed.
There was really no way they could leave the bazaar without saying hi at least and part of Stef hoped the music would never end so that they could avoid that. Lena in part wished the same as the final song was sung and the two women would have no choice but to acknowledge one another again despite the level of awkwardness they both felt toward one another. To some extent they were aware of how ridiculous it really was for they were grown women. Grown woman that at one point in their lives never left the other's side ever. As Lena exited the seat with her daughter she saw Stef and Frankie follow behind walking toward them.
"Ma why are we waiting here?"
"Um I want to introduce you to Stef." she said as Callie quickly turned her head seeing the short haired blonde and a little girl beside her. Instantly recognizing her from the photos she was growing a tad angry as her eyes narrowed in on the woman who had broken her mother's heart. "Please be nice honey."
"Sure ma."
"Hi Lena!" Frankie said happily as the slim woman couldn't help but smile at the sweet little girl.
"Hi Frankie it's nice to see you again."
"You too Lena."
"Hi Stef."
"Hey Lena. Nice running into you again." the cop said smiling widely.
"You too. This is my daughter Callie. Callie this is my friend Stef." She said as young Callie tried her hardest to be polite as the blonde smiled wide at her sticking her hand out.
"Hi Callie it's so nice to meet you honey."
"Likewise." she mumbled rather rudely which didn't go unnoticed by either woman nor did it go unnoticed by Frankie. Of course Stef had an idea that she most likely didn't care for her.
"And Callie this is Stef's daughter Frankie. Frankie this is my daughter Callie." Lena smiled resting her hand on her daughter's shoulder noticing her entire demeanour had changed. It wasn't like Callie to be rude at all but she knew the reasoning behind it even if she had asked her to behave.
"Hi Callie."
"Hey Frankie. Um Mama we should get our tree." Callie said turning to face her mother for she didn't know how much longer she could hold her anger in.
"Yes we will honey. So did you guys enjoy the show?"
"Yeah we did Len. I was um telling Frankie we use to sing in it."
"Gosh that was ages ago. Callie is actually in the choir. Right honey?" She said smiling at her daughter and hoping to snap her out of her rudeness.
"Oh really Cal?"
"Yeah." The teen said looking Stef coldly in the eyes and the blonde let out a small smile seeing how irritated the teen looked.
"That's nice honey. Frankie wants to actually sing in it."
"Oh really? Well anyone can join at anytime. They have changed the rules a bit since your mama and I were in it Frankie."
"Oh really not so strict anymore?" Stef asked as her daughter held her hand tighter noticing Callie's harsh stares that were directed at her mother which she didn't really like. They were making her uncomfortable as she leaned into Stef even more.
"Actually no. Frankie could probably still make it for the town Christmas party. They just started rehearsals for it."
"Can I mama?"
"Yeah we can try to get you in if you like sweetheart." The blonde said smiling at her little girl and pulling her closer to her side.
"They have a rehearsal tonight that Callie is going to. Maybe you can come by with Frankie? It's at 7 right honey?"
"Yeah." Mumbling at her mother she didn't really like the idea at all. Sure Callie had nothing against the little girl who seemed sweet but she had very strong reservations against the blonde.
"Would you like that baby?" The cop asked Frankie as she little girl nodded her head.
"Yes. Will you be there mama?"
"Of course sweets." Winking at her Stef directed her gaze back to Lena who smiled softly at the two. "Thank you for letting us know that's really nice of you."
"Sure. Of course."
"Well um we better get going. It was nice meeting you Callie." Smiling at the teen once again Callie only nodded her head not wanting to say much more and the cop did not push. "Maybe I'll see you at the rehearsal Lena?"
"Ok sure. Nice seeing you again. And you too Frankie."
"Nice seeing you Lena. Nice meeting you Callie." The young girl said politely as the teen let out a soft smile.
"Ok sweets let's head home. Bye Lena."
"Bye." As the two women exchanged smiles and the cop walked off with her daughter Lena couldn't help but turn to her daughter feeling disappointed about her behavior. "Callie?" She said in a warning tone as the young teen let out a guilty sigh.
-----------
Well we know Callie will get in trouble. Poor Frankie. And Stef and Lena are still so awkward with each other!
