Piper had found some blocks.

He didn’t know where but they were in her room somewhere and he guessed Piper must’ve pulled them out. They hadn’t said a word since she ran. He sighed finally. They had been spelling words out of the blocks for about an hour and she seemed content with that. Piper was a rather good speller, Elijah made a mental note of that. She looked up after every word she spelt so Elijah could either correct the spelling or nod his head if it was spelled correctly. Considering she hadn’t gone to school, she was incredibly smart. You’d think Piper was any normal girl if you hadn’t known where she lived. Elijah had decided to build a tower out of boredom when suddenly piper Kicked at the blocks sending one into his knee “ow! What’s happened?” She didn’t say anything but He could tell block time was over. Elijah went to putting the blocks away into a cloth bag. He noticed now a toy box hidden away under the bed. Piper watched him pull it out looking inside. Elijah looked at her “do you want to play with any of these?” She nodded pointing to a pack of crayons. Elijah picked them up and chuckled “how about you wait here quietly while I pop into my office and get some paper Alright? Then we can colour. Does that sound fine to you?” The small girl nodded and Elijah stood opening the door and closing it tight behind him. On the way to his office, Elijah noticed one of the nurses holding a tray with a glass of water, a sandwich and three small pills, one white and two pinkish reddish colour. A sticky note read ‘For patient #358’ Elijah stopped walking and started for the nurse. She looked over at him and smiled looking rather friendly. “Hello there! Aren’t you the new doctor? The owners boy? Elijah Boston? So nice to meet you I’m Trudy” she was a short plump old lady, but had a kind soft face. Elijah smiled back at her “hello Trudy, uhm I happen to have that patient under my care actually I just wanted to maybe say she has been a little fussy. If she gives you a hard time leave the tray in there and I’ll see if I can help once I get back Alright?” Trudy smiled brightly at the kind offer “oh you are most kind Elijah. I best be off though, I’ve got a lot of rounds to do today. A lot of new children have come in and I’m in charge of feeding all of the hungry tummies” and with that she was off. Elijah chuckled taking an immediate liking to Trudy. He got to his office and grabbed a stack of paper, thinking she might want to keep it so Piper could colour in when she felt like it. He started to head back when he heard a yell and then a lot of screaming and suddenly a child was grabbing his leg. Not Piper. “Hello?” Elijah was confused. Where did this little boy come from? Another doctor came from around the corner with a bit of a pink face from either running or embarrassment. “Tristan! Come on don’t annoy this doctor he has something to do” this doctor was female and it looked like she was around her mid twenties. He offered a smile but the little boy, Tristan, hadn’t let go. He seemed to be around 5 or 6. “Uhm....would you mind?” Elijah looked at the other doctor offering the stack of paper he was holding and she took it from him looking embarrassed. Elijah leaned down prying Tristan’s hands away from his leg and he starting screaming again. Elijah set him down but took his arm so he couldn’t latch on again. The doctor smiled in relief taking his arm and giving the paper back “thank you, I’m so sorry about that I’ll be off with him” she went off too quickly for Elijah to say bye. He tilted his head then went back to  Pipers room.

Surprise, Surprise

it was chaos.
