"You saw Edward standing by his car the day of the accident, right Winny?" Bella demanded almost desperately about a week after she'd spoken to Edward during the field trip. "I saw you looking in his direction."
Winny, who had been doing some geometry homework, looked up with a startled expression on her face. Bella didn't talk to Winny unless it was absolutely necessary, so to hear her voice now was jarring. Without thinking, Winny gave her answer.
"He was standing right beside you Bella," Winny said in a puzzled voice. "You and he were talking in biology and he followed you out to your car. Lucky he did too because he was able to push you out of the way."
Bella scowled at her sister and turned back to her computer, obviously done with the conversation. So Winny went back to her homework.
