(Y/n)'s Point of view

My body was numb. The only source of warmth was from the warm beverage in my hands. As I sipped it's contents it made my body warm even if it was just for a brief minute.

"Where is he?" I mumbled looking around. It was around midnight and here I was at the park freezing my butt off on a freezing cold bench. For a boy who never even noticed me.

Rantaro Amami my best friend since kindergarten. Ever since he got accepted into Hopes Peak we've been slowly drifting apart. He even got a girlfriend. That is precisely why he's call me out tonight. To ask for dating tips.

All the time you've spent together I've actually developed feelings for the boy. He never seemed to notice my checks turning red or how I stutter around him.

Maybe he's just stupid or just ignoring it

There was something warm pressed against my shoulder. My body froze as something warm was rubbed against my check. I jumped up scared. There was a familiar laugh as I opened my eyes. "I'm sorry (y/n) I couldn't help myself." The green haired boy apologized as he sat on the bench. He patted the bench for me to sit next to him. I sighed and sat next to him.

He wasn't wearing a jacket just a long sleeve shirt and pants. "Aren't you cold?" I asked observing him. Rantaro just smiled at me making my checks turn red. "Did I make you wait long your checks are red." Rantaro said poking my check. Making the blush worse. "No I'm fine I was just out here for a couple of minutes." I lied covering on my checks.

Rantaro didn't responded as he looked at the ground deep in thought. The way his eyes looked so distant like they're in another universe. It only made my blush darker a bit.

"So you wanted some tips." I said breaking the silence as he looked back up at me. "Yeah well it's almost Christmas and I don't know what to get Kaede." Rantaro admitted smiling.

Such a perfect smile. Stop it (y/n) he has a girlfriend!

"W-well what does she like?" I asked stupid voice stuttering. "Pianos." Rantaro simply said. "You could buy her notes that go in her hair." You said making him smile. "That's a good idea I bet she'd love that." Rantaro said still smiling.

I could feel my heart breaking as he talked about Kaede but he seemed so happy. I didn't mind as long as he was happy and smiling.

We chatted mostly he talking about how wonderful Kaede was. I nodded not really paying attention or caring. I finally finished my drink leaving me cold again. Rantaro just continued to rumble.

I started rubbing my arms to keep warm.

Just a little longer and I go into my warm bed to forget life's troubles.

Something warm wrapped around me as I pulled into Rantaro's chest. "You were getting cold sorry for rumbling." He apologized rubbing my arms. I just sat there heart pounding and checks getting warmer. I wasn't cold anymore.

I snuggled into his chest trying to get warm. I could hear his heartbeat it was racing. Kind of like mine. It felt nice and safe there. That I eventually dozed off in his arms.

Rantaro's Point of view

I dragged (y/n) out to tell her how I felt. Kaede agreed to fake date me so I could lead up to this moment. Tomorrow was Christmas and I could buy (y/n) a present.

On my way to the park I saw a necklace with a (B/s) in the window. I bit my lip.

Should I buy it? (Y/n)'s waiting for me probably freezing to death.

I sighed and walked in quickly buying the necklace and put it into a small box. I rushed to the park to see my childhood friend. Her (h/L) (h/c) shining under the moonlight. Her (f/c) scarf wrapped around her neck and part of her mouth. She looked like a little kid all bundled up in her jacket and mittens. Holding a drink that had steam coming from it.

She didn't seem to notice me so I walked up behind her. Grinning to myself as I put my hands on her shoulders. Then I leaned down next to her face and gently rubbed my already blushing check against hers. (Y/n)'s reaction was hilarious as she jumped up. Only for her eyes to land on me. I laughed and said "I'm sorry (y/n) I couldn't help myself." I sat on the bench and motioned her to do the same. After a sigh she sat next to me.

"Aren't you cold?" Did she notice my checks? I just smiled at her and her cheeks turned red. "Did I make you wait long your checks are red." I felt guilty.

Maybe I should have waited till tomorrow to buy the necklace.

We just talked about Kaede and what I should get her. (Y/n) recommended notes that go in her hair. I decided to talk about Kaede so she wouldn't suspect that I liked her. I just had to wait for the right moment to tell her.

She started rubbing her arms. She was cold. On instinct I held her pulling her into my chest. My heart was pounding in my ears. I just hope (y/n) couldn't hear it. She eased into me snuggling into me till her breathe was low. She was asleep. I smiled to myself as I played with her (h/c) hair.

After a few more minutes of being like that I picked (y/n) bridal style. Walking her back to her house. Her parents were in the living room watching movies as I walked to her room. Laying her down.

She looked so content sleeping. I had to take off her coats and shoes. Still asleep I pulled the covers over her and put the box on her nightstand along with a note.

Meet me in the park around two I want to tell you something

As I walked home all I could remember was how (y/n) made me so warm.
