Ultimate Despairs

Months Before

We've been in this building for about a month now. The outside world was completely destroyed. Our upperclassmen had just left to get some new supplies but it's been awhile. I'm a bit worried so was Kokichi as he held me. You couldn't just by looking at him but it's the way he held me tightly like he needed me. Like he was afraid I would disappear forever if he let go.

Our fears were put to rest when we heard the door open. "Let's go see." I said standing up from his embrace.

"Yeah hopefully they got some panta." Kokichi grinned to hide the fear look in his eyes.

"You don't have to put on an act for me Kokichi." I told him as his smile faded. "I can reaad you like an open book." I winked playfully.

He grinned mischievously. "Then (Y/N) can read all my dirty thoughts too." Kokichi teased making me blush. "Just kidding but I guess (Y/N)-Chan has dirty thoughts."

I playfully punched his shoulder and he offered a small real smile. We walked to the door only to see Mizu on the floor covered in cuts.

"Onee-Chan!" Kokichi shouted running towards her. I kneeled next to them both checking her pulse. It was weak but it was there. Her eyes were half lidded and a bit clouded.

"What happened?" I asked curiously grabbing a first aid kit. As I uninfected her cuts she winced slightly.

"W-we were ambushed. I was the only one to make it out." Mizu said trying to force her eyes to stay open. "Stupid Monokumas there was at least a hundred of them. They used gas on us."

"How did you get out?" Kokichi asked. Mizu lifted her hands up.

"Covered my nose and held my breathe." She explained dropping her hands back down. I wrapped her arms up.

"Then how did you get all the cuts on you?" I asked. She grinned weakly.

"I might have fell down a hill to get away." She waved off while trying to stand up. Sadly she didn't get far and only ended up on the floor.

"Mizu you need to rest." I told her. She simply nodded to tired to argue. "What are we going to do now?"

"We should leave as soon as possible knowing that psycho she's going to come here." Mizu said as Kokichi helped her up. I could only nod.

"I'll get everyone ready." I said turning around. Before I could leave a hand grabbed my wrist.

"No I need to talk to you. Kokichi go get everyone ready." Mizu ordered. Kokichi handed her to me and ran off. "I need to tell you something." Mizu said in a serious tone. "Izuru said to tell you something he said "you have to lead your class and leave Japan"."

I stared at her a bit confused. Why did I have to lead them? They are plenty of leaders in our group. Kokichi is literally the super duper highschool supreme leader.

"It has to be you." Mizu spoke with confidence. The rest of my class arrived all a bit shock.

"What about you?" I asked her as she grinned.

"While you make your daring escape I'll hold them off." She shrugged.

"You can't do that with all your injuries!" Kokichi shouted running towards his sister. "Y-you."

Mizu offered a small grin hugging her brother. "Don't worry I'll be fine." She assured him.

"Your lying." Kokichi said bluntly. The rest was a blur as we ran out that building leaving Mizu behind. As we raced for the unknown.

Present

I stared at the purple head as he held the control with the robots surrounding him. As he uttered those three simple words.

"I'm the mastermind." He was lying. I'd known him enough to know that at least. But why? Why would he lie?

Gonta came to mind. He wanted to kill us all but to protect us. Kokichi is actually helping us whether we know it or not. Maybe this is one of those things.
