I did thought that I'd be messed up after I was fired. I was rather living a slow life, spending most of my days with taehyung's children.

and when I said we've been spending time, I really meant it. days were spent with playful games and road trips to places they never went and shopping to malls that they rarely visit.

we baked cookies, and made dolls sometimes too. we would watch movies for every Saturday night, and whenever taehyung was busy.

listening to old records from my vinyls as the four of us would sing on top of our lungs and danced without figuring out the night.

times to times, taehyung would also join us, but mostly he doesn't. and when he does, we would eat pizza for the morning and cheerios or lucky charms for the night.

I also taught taeyang and taeyoon with their studies sometimes, I was in fact a teacher.

I did apply for part time job but what was I kidding, I needed a long dead–ass rest. and spending my time with the three of them made my whole day great.

I was really grateful that I could get close to them— I knew how they felt, without a mother kept me lonely and empty.

“DAD!”
but I was not a part of them. I felt guilty every time I overheard their fight. I didn't want to know but watching tears coming out from their eyes made me weak.

“YOU ARE NOT HAVING A BOYFRIEND!” taehyung voice was always deep and even though it sounded like from heaven, it scared me to death whenever he shouted.

“BUT DAD—”
“NO. I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND AT THIS AGE. TAEYOON, YOU ARE TEN YEARS OLD!” and with what he said, taeyoon immediately stormed to her room and slammed the door.

hanbyul was sad and so was taeyang. I watched them played Lego silently. “you guys stay here for a little,” I whispered.

I knocked on taeyoon's door. “may I come in?” I asked which she then told me that the door was not lock.

so I went inside; she was lying on her bed with a pillow covering her face. “I'm sorry you had to hear that,” she mumbled.

I lied down beside her on the bed. “tell me, what's his name? what's he like?” I asked as I turned my body to the side and looked at her.

her tears stopped, slowly she smiled. “his name is soonyoung. he's funny and he can do all sport!” she excitedly told me.

“oh I know why you like him,” I teased her which she just covered her blushing cheeks.

“but that's not it! he said I was smart!” we looked at each before we both started to giggle.

“he seem like a great guy.”

she nodded her head but with a sigh at the end. “dad doesn't see him that way. he said he's a disturbance to my studies,” she made a pout.

“he's true though,” I sighed, “but don't worry, I'm on your side. I'll tell your dad that he's a great boy—”

“you'd do that?!” she sat up straight excitedly. I told her that she must promise to keep studying. “of course!”

and then we kept talking about her boyfriend. she said she hoped that soonyoung will always be with her. I envied her— compare with my childhood, I was always lonely.

I did fall for someone when I was young but it was just a puppy love— a simple crush. I couldn't even remember his name though, but I was sure that he was cute and everyone loved him too.
