"GET UP THALIA", Brandi screamed "YOU'RE GONNA MAKE US LATE." She shakes me awake and pulls me out of bed. This morning we're taking our flight out to... LA. We're staying with Brandi's older brother Brandon. Since we live in Montana, it's super exciting to finally have a change of scenery. Brandon's in an amazing band called "Prettymuch", and they're currently becoming rising stars. He invited us out for the summer and we obviously said yes. After we asked our parent that is. Our flight leaves at 10 this morning, and the airport is hour away. I blink my eyes open and look at the clock. 8:30 it reads. I fall out of bed and Brandi picks me up and carries me to the bathroom, where I then get ready. Thalia:

After we are both ready, I kiss my mom, who is still sleeping, and put the note I left for her on the nightstand. Brandi beeps the horn on her white ranger rover, and I run out the door and jump into the car. The entire car ride we listen to Prettymuch on repeat and sing along dramatically. "GOT THAT KEY TO YOUR HEART, SCRAPE MY KNEES ON THE PAVEMENT!" we scream in unison. I scroll through the Prettymuch Instagram account and come across this:

I mean I never really looked at any of them other than Brandon, don't get me wrong he's cute but 1. He's got a girlfriend and 2. He's my bestie's brother so he's like my brother. Zion, Nick, and Edwin are cute, but not my type. But Austin, he's perfection. His eyes, his hair, his smile, everything about him. "Brandi?" I say. "Yes Thal," she replies. "His name's Austin right?" I show her the picture and point at him. "Yea, he's super sweet, and really funny. He's just like you actually" she smiles. I feel myself starting to blush and bury my face in my sweater. "Ooh, looks like someone's got a little crush," Brandi gushes. "Come on B, I don't even know him. He could be an idiot." She rolls her eyes at me. " I only think he's cute," I whisper. She screams, almost scaring me half to death in the process. "So you do," She hints. "Like I said, I only think he's cute" "Mkay, sure" she laughs. At the airport, we rush through security and board the plane at 9:45. The plane takes off and I realize I'm getting closer to seeing Austin. A boy who I don't even know, and already have a crush on. Brandi was right. I finally fall asleep, thinking about how amazing this summer is gonna be.
