Bartholomew grumbled as he laid in his bed. He flipped through the channels and heard Benjamin and Brick yelling at each other, for the fifth time today. Bartholomew glanced at the door and Boomer opened the door, smiling and holding a plate of scrambled eggs with a blue drink. Bartholomew sat up and looked at his dad, already feeling better but he wouldn't let him know that.

"We should really get these walls soundproof, huh?" Boomer joked.

Bartholomew rolled his eyes, "Totally. Then I could blare Lady Gaga and have sex without you knowing."

"Good one Bart. But no way, I will personally take down your door."

"Dad! I was joking."

Boomer smiled, "How's the ankle?"

Bartholomew looked at it and shrugged his shoulders. He lokked at his dad and noticed how much he changed from little time. His bright blonde hair look paler, his eyes has a less glow and his skin looked translucent. Bad bags underneath his eyes made Bartholomew feel guilty. But that wasn't the part that made Bartholomew worried, the coughing fits Boomer would have. Sometimes he couldn't control them and make Boomer so weak he can't walk.

Boomer sighed and pushed back Bartholomew's hair. He started to shake and Bartholomew shot up.

"Dad? Dad!" Bartholomew yelled.

Boomer gave him a weak smile but started to cough. Bartholomew winced at every cough and Boomer finally stopped. Bartholomew passed him his water and Boomer drunk some as his eyes stung with tears. Boomer looked away, not wanting his son to see him like this.

"Dad, can you please go to the hospital? I'm worried. I just got you back and I don't want to lose you again." Bartholomew said.

"I'm fine Kiddo. Just the flu, alright?" Boomer lied.

Bartholomew frowned and scooted over. He patted the bed and Boomer sighed. Boomer climbed in and held on his son. Bartholomew grabbed him and silently cried. They haven'tdone this since Bartholomew gotten bullied for being gay in middle school. Boomer made Bartholomew his favorite dinner, played his favorite movie and held on him as they laid on the couch. Boomer closed his eyes and rubbed Bartholomew's back and sang a song.

"It's okay, Barty. I'm still here and always will be." Boomer whispered.

---

Bartholomew sat at the kitchen table, playing on the computer and felt everyone staring at him. He turned and saw Bentley standing with Bubbles, they was having a serious talk but stopped when Bartholomew looked back. He frowned and turned back to the computer. The chair near him moved and he saw Bentley sitting there staring at the computer screen.

Bartholomew pressed his lips together and thought about Bentley's powers. He could tell if Boomer is really sick, Bentley could tell If Boomer actually needs to go to the hospital. Then Bartholomew wouldn't have to worry so much and he can still make sure his dad stays by his side.

"I can't read his mind." Bentley said.

"What?" Bartholomew asked.

"You wanna know if Boomer needs to go to the hospital. Well I can't read his mind, he knows how a mind block works."

"Dang it."

"I'm sure he's fine. Maybe the flu."

"The flu doesn't make you cough like a wild beast, Lee. Trust me. I know my dad and I know he needs the hospital."

Bentley put his hands up, "Alright. So you got a plan?"

"Nope!" Bartholomew said.

Bentley stared at him. He sighed and shook his head. He grabbed his hairtye and wrapped his hair in a manbun as he waited for Bartholomew to think of a plan. But Bentley only heard one word from Bartholomew's mind. Python.

"You know he misses you too, right?" Bentley said.

"Oh did he tell you that?" Bartholomew snapped.

"No he thinks it. Always at three in the afternoon."

"Why at that time?"

"Cause he hides in that tree across from the house. Right across your bedroom, thinking of ways to tell you sorry and work up courage." Bentley said.

Bartholomew blinked and his face turning a bright red. He quickly looked down at the time and saw he only have five minutes before Python gets here. He grabbed his crutches and got out of the chair, cursing as the cast was caught in the charger chord. Bentley bent down and pulled it off and smiled at him.

"What are you gonna say to him?" Bentley asked.

"I'm going to lunch him and tell him that I missed him like crazy." Bartholomew said.

"Sounds like a decent plan." Bentley said.

Bartholomew opened his mouth to say some something but a coughing fit made him freeze. He looked in the living room and saw his dad laying on the couch and coughing in his sleep. Bartholomew rished to him, which made him curse at the crutches for taking to long, and fell next to him. Bartholomew yelped from the pain and Bentley rushed over and helped Bartholomew to a comfortable position.

Bartholomew grabbed on to his dad's hand and stared at him. He blinked away the tears and Boomer finally stopped coughing. Bartholomew hugged him and Bentley gasped as he scrambled away. He took a look in Boomer's mind and felt cold. Bartholomew was to busy to noticed.

"I'm fine kiddo. Why don't you and Benny go outside. Get some fresh air, alright?" Boomer said weakly.

"Are you sure?" Bartholomew asked.

"Positive. Be careful, yeah?" Bomer said.

Bartholomew nodded and Bentley helped him up. He passed him the crutches and the two walked outside. Bentley looked back at Boomer and felt his life force slipping. Bartholomew grabbed onto Bentley and started to shake him. Bentley looked away from Boomer and saw Python walking down the street.

"Do you think I can fly?" Bartholomew asked.

"Dunno if that's a smart idea." Bentley replied.

"Then it's perfect for me!" Bartholomew exclaimed.

Bartholomew passed Bentley his crutches and flew towards Python. He yelled his name and Python froze and look at Bartholomew. Bartholomew wrapped his arms around Python with tears in his eyes. Python held onto him and they fell back. Bartholomew pulled away and punched Python in the stomach.

"You're a jerk! You could've talked to me! I hate you!" Bartholomew yelled.

Python hugged him and closed his eyes, "I missed you too."

Bartholomew smiled and held on him tighter.

"Don't ever leave me again." Bartholomew whispered.

"I won't. I promise." Python said.

They held onto each other, trying to make up the weeks without each other. Bartholomew finally felt happy and Python felt all his worries melt away. Because they finally had each other again.

But Bartholomew had no idea how much pain he was heading for.
