The reapers weakness

A reaper?

"You're a reaper like in the legends grim reaper?" I inquired.

"Why yes." He answered.

"But you're not a skeleton with a cloak and death scythe." I accused.

"No that's a misinterpretation I presume." He said annoyed pushing his glasses up.

"So reapers are men in suits who carry gardening tools to take the souls of the dead." I joked.

He nodded.

"So what are you doing here in the human world?" Curiously I asked.

"There's a certain human who's going to die soon I've been ordered to observe him/her to see if he or she deserves death." He explained.

"Interesting would you like some cake?" I offered.

"Umm well I haven't eaten anything since I got here....Very well, I shall take your offer." He stated.

At my apartment

William's POV

"This is your apartment?" I asked following her

"Yep it's pretty big I might say" she said

"Does anybody else live here?" I asked

"No...at least not anymore." She whispered.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to presume." I apologized.

"No it's fine, my parents used to live here....they died of an illness." She explained.

"What were your parents name?"

"Kelly Ashcroft and Daniel Gates." She stated.

"It sounds familiar I should check the library."

"Do you have any siblings?" I asked

"No I was born an only child." She stated pouring some tea on a white floral tea cup.

"I see."

"So why do reapers wear glasses?" She asked curiously

She placed the tea cup on the small table

"Reapers are near sighted so they need glasses to see far distances." He said.

"That's interesting here." She handed me a small plate with cake.

"Uh thank you."

After that we chatted a little more.....

William's POV

"My my look at the time I must be going" I said looking at the clock.

"That's too bad oh well, have a safe journey." She smiled.

"Thank you so much for your kindness miss_"

"Evangeline." She finished.

"Evangeline thank you I bid you farewell." I said.

I walked down the stairs when she yelled. "Will I see you again?"

"I think so in the future."

She smiled at my answer. "Alright farewell."

"Goodbye Evangeline."

Evangeline's POV

I said goodbye when I started feeling unwell

*Cough cough*

I looked at my hand and saw_

"BLOOD!"
