"Ow!" I stabbed my eyes with my mascara when I thought the name.

I tried to think of something else. I repeated random code to myself which worked well. Then I started thinking about who taught it to me.

"Agh!" I fell over while putting my shoes on when I thought of the name again.

I told you I wasn't happy with my situation.

I heard a knock on the door and my heart stopped. He was here.

I tried to compose myself. My rival was on the other side of that door. I opened it slowly and Tarynn skipped right in, pulling her date with her.

I let out an annoyed breath. "Hi Tarynn." I said grudgingly.

She smiled at me widely. "Oh hi, Kim, why is your eye red?"

I shook my head. "Stabbed my eye with my mascara..." I grumbled.

"Do I need to teach you a lesson in makeup? You hold the brush up to your eyelashes, not your eyeball!" She mocked.

I rolled my eyes. "How about you introduce me to the guy?"

She turned towards him and suddenly remembered he was standing there. "Oh. This is Xavier."

He had skin like dark chocolate and his hair was cut close to his head. His beard was trimmed nicely. He was dressed just as well has he has kept his hygiene.

I nodded at him and he nodded back.

"It's nice to meet you ma'am." He said.

I raised my eyebrows. "Wow, Tarynn, he is very polite and good looking for a Tinder boy. Where did you really find him?"

Tarynn gave me a smug look then pulled out her phone. She scrolled until she reached what wanted. She turned the screen towards me.

There it was, the conversation that her and Xavier had. It even included the part where he offered to pay and give us transportation.

"Yeah, he is great and all but where is your date?"

I sighed. "He's why my eye was stabbed." I said under my breath.

"What?"

At that exact moment, I heard another knock on the door. Not only did my heart stop, but my stomach started doing flips. I was stressed about the bets he would make against me.

Tarynn was silent and she stared at me.

"Well? Go on, open it. I want to see who you brought."

I hesitated as I reached for the knob.

Tarynn started to get impatient. "Oh, let me do it!" She pushed me out of the way and pulled the door open.

Derek was standing there in his usual attire including his glasses.

Tarynn stared at him, her mouth hanging open.

I peeked around Tarynn. "Derek." I said cordially.

Tarynn then turned around and mouthed, "That's your date?" looking even more shocked.

I ignored that, grabbed Derek's hand, and rushed us out the door before he had a chance to say anything.

Tarynn and Xavier followed behind us.
