Chapter 5: Bun Problems

Star's P.O.V.

I was sitting on Marco's living room couch, waiting for him to come home from detention. I was feeling kind of guilty about how he took responsibility for stuffing all the lockers in the school to the top with little stuffed pumpkins to promote the Halloween dance. I am grateful that it wasn't me though- Bump! What was that? I turned around and looked outside the window that gave full view of the backyard. I grabbed my wand and cautiously made my way outside.

It was quiet and it was getting darker every minute. The sky was a nice mix of orange, red, and pink. I almost got distracted by how awesome it was until the bushes began to rustle. I turned and quickly aimed my wand at the bushes. All of a sudden, a cute little fluffy white bunny hopped out with a vegetable from Marco's mom's new vegetable garden. I gushed, "Aw! Look at you!"

I slowly walked over and began to scratch behind the little bunny's ear, causing it to stomp the ground in rhythm, "I'm gonna take you inside for Marco to see!" Bad idea. Right as I went to pick it up, it began growing... It became the height of my knee and continued to grow until it was as big as Marco's house! "Um... Maybe he could see you from the school?" The bunny roared and began to tear up Marco's backyard. I decided to go get Marco myself and ran through Marco's house and out the front door. I wasn't fast enough and it was already on the street destroying everything in it's path. 

Marco's P.O.V.

Detention was over about thirty minutes ago, but I just wanted some time to think about the dance with Y/n. I blushed at the thought of wearing matching costumes with her. I looked around at the beautiful sunset and smiled, taking it in for the hundredth time. The way the trees became darker along with the sky, how nature began to wake up to the darkening atmosphere, and how Star was running at me at full speed with a giant bunny in the far distance. Wait, that's not supposed to be there.

"Marco!" Star shouted, finally making it up to me, "Thereisagiantbunnyandit'sdestoryingeverythinginitspath!"

I grabbed Star's shoulders and shook her, "Slow down! What is going on?!"

Star took a deep breath and said, "There is a giant bunny and it's destroying everything! We need to take it down!" We began to run in the direction of the bunny and Star continued, "And I know just what to do!"'

"And what is that?! We aren't cutting back to Y/n like if it's a book! What is your plan?!" I responded with frustration.

"Oh! Sorry, got caught up in the moment! I scratched behind its ear and it grew after a few seconds! What if we scratch behind his ear again?" Star explained as we got closer to the giant bunny.

I thought about it, "It could work, but how will we get up to his ears? He's massive!"

Star and I stopped in front of the raging bunny, "I will distract it with my wand and you can try to climb up the back of it."

I nodded and ran towards the back of the bunny. I had to jump over a few strewn about pavement chunks sitting in the road and some knocked over trees, but I eventually got to the back of it. I stepped back a bit for a running start and jumped onto the bunny's back, holding onto its fur to climb. As I made my way up, I could see Star trying everything to distract the bunny, but it was too big to keep it's attention on one thing. Right as I got up to the back of it's neck, the bunny noticed me.

"Marco! Jump!" Star shouted, shooting a giant pillow out of her wand. I didn't understand why she wanted me to jump with me this close until I realized the bunny was about to jump and land on its back, trying to crush me in the process. I quickly let go and jumped in the direction of the pillow.

We stepped back a bit as the bunny flopped over and grew another few feet. It stood up once again and roared. I looked to Star and she looked to me, "We are going to need some help."

Star's P. O. V.

Marco and I tried to fight off the bunny just until we had time to call someone, but it somehow multiplied into different sizes of big bunnies. That's when we resorted into calling my mom immediately. She decided to bring The Magical High Commission with her also in case things got worse.
