"I'm pretty sure the microwave isn't supposed to make that sound..."

That was the last thing Mingyu heard, before a small explosion, quickly followed by the commotion made out of Seungkwan's screams and Hansol's yelps, echoed through Wonwoo's small apartment.

This really wasn't what he had in mind for the day...

Two weeks ago, Wonwoo had revealed to Mingyu and (Y/N) that his parents and younger brother were going out of town for the holidays, leaving him behind. Although the boy didn't look particularly fazed by it, his friends immediately started to come up with various ideas on how to fix that issue. 
No way they would let Wonwoo spend Christmas alone!
Not on their watch!

After spending perhaps way too much time scheming and coming up with various and some not so possible plans, Mingyu and (Y/N) managed to get to an agreement.

The girl would have to keep Wonwoo busy, and most importantly, out of the house, for the whole day. This proved to be easier than she previously imagined since, despite the fact that Wonwoo wasn't a particular fan of the outdoors, he could spend long hours inside bookstores, browsing through them without feeling tired or bored.

Meanwhile, Mingyu would recruit the help of their other friends, mainly Soonyoung, Seokmin, Jihoon, Seungcheol, Seungkwan and Hansol, to prepare the meals, decorate the house and overall give Wonwoo's apartment a more 'festive look'.

But things weren't working as well as he had planned. 

At first, when everybody arrived at the scene, Mingyu divided them into small groups so they could get everything ready before Wonwoo arrived.
Despite the small inconveniences, things were going smoothly for the first few hours, and Mingyu was sure he could prepare the best Christmas possible for his best friend.

Seungkwan and Hansol weren't particularly gifted for cooking, but with Mingyu's guidance, they were proving to be more helpful than most. Like Soonyoung, who was just there talking, singing and commenting everything that they did.
In order to get rid of him, Mingyu order him to go buy a Christmas tree with Seokmin, since Wonwoo didn't have one or even cared enough to print a tree out of paper. At this point, Mingyu wasn't  feeling picky.
