Wonwoo had barely slept two hours on that night as his thoughts kept him on the edge.
It wasn't exactly every day that he thought about kissing one of your friends.
The tall boy never had actually expected to be this close to (Y/N). Initially, it was all strictly about writing and nothing else, and that was probably how it would remain since the girl herself always seemed so scared and eager to get away from him. But as time went by, Wonwoo found himself enjoying her company, and now it was hard for him to picture a time when she wasn't next to him and always on board with whatever crazy scheme he came up with.
Why, as he stood not even an inch away from her, all he could think about was kissing her?
As Wonwoo previously stated, he never experienced love or even had a crush, despite what his writing would suggest. He just never found anyone interesting enough to make him even think about that sort of stuff. Mingyu had even joked plenty of times, that at this rate Wonwoo would either end up alone or with a bunch of cats, and that the only relationships he would ever have, were the ones he wrote about in his stories.
So what did (Y/N) had done to make him consider, even for just a second, what would it be like to feel such things?
What's exactly so special about her?
In end, and to put a stop to all of these lingeringly annoying questions, Wonwoo decided to blame it on the situation they were on.
He was, after all, a teenage boy full of raging hormones craving for any sort of human affection. These sorts of things could happen to anybody. In fact, he was pretty certain that if it were other people in the same circumstances, the result would have been the same. For example, if Jeonghan was laying in the same bed with Jisoo at such proximity, the thought would have crossed his mind most certainly. Except Jeonghan would not have hesitated.
Although a small part of him didn't feel completely satisfied with this conclusion, Wonwoo decided that would have to suffice. At least he tried to convince himself it had to be that way, otherwise, he wouldn't be able to face (Y/N) again. And they had already agreed to meet up the next day.
Only on the fourth day did Wonwoo remembered that this trip had been also an excuse to do some "researching". Which mostly involved him going around the resort and catch any sort of interesting piece of dialogue, containing either gossip, flirting or any sort of mundane drama, since Wonwoo was never particularly crafted to come up with those kinds of things. Usually, Mingyu was the one who helped with his research, but since Mingyu was apparently on "timeout" as Seungcheol had declared, (Y/N) ended up agreeing to go with him instead.
He quickly spotted her sitting next to Soonyoung and Seungkwan eating breakfast all together in one of the outdoor tables of the resort. Those three were probably the only people capable of eating outside without caring too much about the cold, but Wonwoo knew it was mostly because (Y/N) didn't like the whole mess that always seemed to happen in the cafeteria and how overcrowded it was.
Even from afar he could clearly hear Soonyoung's and Seungkwan's voices and (Y/N)'s loud laugh. It was interesting to him how carefree she looked with those two. Unlike the way she was with him.
"WONWOO! COME HERE!" Seungkwan's voice boomed through the outdoor area of the resort, making the few people who were outside snap their heads in his direction.
Despite his promise to himself to act as if yesterday's events had never happened, a part of him felt weird by just looking at (Y/N) and as much as he wanted to run the other way, he had no choice but to sit at their table. Right in front of her.
"Good morning, grumpiness in human form!" Soonyoung greeted him, while (Y/N) simply gave him a small wave.
"Good morning to you too, human hamster. Aren't you supposed to be on 'time out' along with Mingyu?" Wonwoo answered, trying his best not to make any eye contact with the girl sitting in front of him.
