Mingyu and Soonyoung's operation was proving to be a complete failure. Two days had passed since they arrived at the resort and so far no progress has been made.
Just before the beginning of the trip, Mingyu and Soonyoung met up a few times to discuss how they would force their best friends to admit their not so secret feelings, but in the end, they came out empty. They both know that their best friends were pretty complicated and really oblivious to these sort of things, even though Wonwoo wrote "really cheese stories" as Mingyu had pointed out, so getting them together was a pretty much impossible task. And so, Soonyoung proposed for them to just wing it until they make it. Whenever an opportunity for something really "k-drama worthy" to happen arose, they would intervene.
Of course, their improvise attempts had lead to pretty much nothing, besides a few accidents and slightly awkward moments. From "lightly" pushing (Y/N) so that would Wonwoo would catch her, to stealing her jackets just to force her to borrow from Wonwoo, to enforcing them to always sit together, they had tried all the possible clichés in the book, but nothing had worked. In the end, all of their attempts either resulted in (Y/N) accidentally falling on Hansol or Jihoon and apologising to them for hours or Soonyoung's clothes would gradely disappear, since the girl knew where his things were and was comfortable enough to take his jackets without asking. The closest thing to victory for Mingyu and Soonyoung was when after sneakily pairing Wonwoo and (Y/N) on the bus, the par ended up falling asleep on each other. Although that was a moment worthy of many pictures for posterity and later on some teasing, it still wasn't enough for them.

On the third day of the trip, Soonyoung was actually considering to tone down the "operation", at least for a while. In his mind, (Y/N) and Wonwoo would remain the way that they were now at least for another year, but something was bound to happen at some point, right? Maybe Jungkook would appear out of nowhere again and Wonwoo would feel compelled to actually act on his feelings? One thing was for sure, Soonyoung wasn't planning on letting (Y/N) have to confess again!
As Soonyoung sat on the couch of the resort thinking about his best friend's embarrassment after two failed confessions, he was approached by none other than his partner in crime, Kim Mingyu.
"So...hyung...how are you feeling on this fine day?"
"...Mingyu, what did you do?"
"Why do you automatically assume that I did something?!"
"You have that weird guilty look on your face that just screams that you're up to no good!" Soonyoung accused as he continued to observe the younger boy who kept fidging and refusing to look him in the eye.
"How dare you accuse me of being up to no good! The audacity, the sheer disrespect-"
"Mingyu!"
"Okay fine, I did something stupid!"
"Please tell me that it has nothing to do with (Y/N) and Wonwoo..."
