(A/N) i'm in the process of rewriting this story and making it less ~cringe~ so yeah, if you see chapters named incorrectly, like not lining up it's because i haven't had a chance to look at them yet

The time had finally come when it was time to leave. Time for mom and I to leave. Time to move halfway across the country. We already had the SUV packed with what we were bringing with us. The rest would be coming later in the month, but we didn't really know exactly when it would be coming, so we packed essentials and clothes. According to her we needed a 'new start', however this was the 7th 'new start' in the past 3 years. At this point I've gotten used to it. I've perfected my 'new people' attitude, in which I usually act 'nice' yet not so nice that people will get attached. That way it's easier for them. And for me too I guess. Over the years we've always kept only a few things, like our clothes, and sentimental stuff, but furniture bigger than a coffee table get sold off for some extra cash. Mom claims that it's because it's too hard to move in and out of different places, but mostly it's because the both of us aren't particularly strong, and she's a bit stubborn when it comes to hiring people to move stuff for us, and since we move so often, we don't have any 'family friends'.
I'm leaning on the frame of the car, with the door open. Mommas just discussing some last minute fees with the truck company before we leave. It looks so empty... even from the outside it looks.. I don't know.. cold? detached? Definitely not like a warm and welcoming house anymore. Well, i'm not sure that it ever was with mom and I in there.
Sighing, I finally decide to finally get into the car. In a small little travel bag I have a charger, headphones, a few different types of snacks, a monster or two, and a throw blanket along with a hoodie.
Eventually, she finished up the last minute arrangements and gets into the car, putting the key in the ignition and twisting. This is gonna be a long one isn't it? I plug my headphones in and start listening a random playlist, just looking for anything to fill the silence before it even gets a chance to start. mom glances at me out of the corner of her eye and frowns. "Oh are you kidding me?" she says with exasperation in her tone. "We haven't even left the driveway and you're already plugging in so you can ignore me?" Pulling out an earbud, I look at her.
"I'm not ignoring you.. I just wanted to listen to some music." She rolls her eyes. Oh how sassy of you mother
"Mom? Where are we going anyways? What school will I be transfered to?"
"Oh thats right, I forgot to tell you..."
A/N btw this takes place in.. wait a minute idk where blue exorcists takes place in one sec lemme find out
I have the most awesome mom ever.
My eyes went wide "Wo~ah mom! really??? Thats awesome!!"

Time skip, like, a few months, so yeah

Its summer break, at least, for the kids who didn't get to skip the last few weeks of school. So natureally im seeing more teenagers loitering in the streets, more kids holding their mothers hands and walking to the park. All of the sort.
I'd spend my of my days inside dying of heat, while mom was out working. Don't think less of me, i'd already finished unpacking and decorating everything so i wasn't procrastinating. (A/N) like most of y'all reading this right now... lol author nim throwing shade
