Rin tried to talk more with me but before he got the chance, Yukio interrupted him.
"Everything's all set up. Are you ready (Y/N)?¨
I redirected my attention to Yukio, thankful for a reason to look away from Rin.
"Gah, I'm...I'm as ready as I'll ever be..."
Yukio smiles and turns away from me. "Great. Then we will start right now."
He poured some sorta liquid around. Apparently, it was some sort of 'demon elixir' that lures small status demons to the area. This was my test; to see if I could see them. Now I know that that sounds crazy, why would I have any trouble seeing anything. Well according to Shieme, demons are invisible to the regular eye.
I had sat still for a few minutes. Nothing happened. The whole class was absolutely silent, except for the foot tapping of the very impatient Sugaro. Tension in the air hung thick.
I waited for something. Anything. To happen.
Then something did happen, however it wasn't what I was expecting. It was Yukio. "I don't understand- what's the delay? They should be here right now..."
They're scared. Just like me. They're scared.
