Misty hated ballet.
It was a required class for all princesses and debutantes to take. The princesses would actually take theirs before the debutantes. The ladies were practicing for their performance in a upcoming royal ball that happened to be planned by Queen Serena.
Anything Serena planned was popular. People looked up to Serena. People wanted to be Serena. Even if she went on her walks, she would go past the poor that sat near the bakery begging for food. They would eventually smile and go, "I met Queen Serena!"

"Keep those toes pointing!"
James Kojirō had a talent when it came to dancing. He had been dancing himself since he was young. He stood straight as a light-post and watched in somewhat interest as the girls danced the way they were instructed.
"Misty, dear, back straight. Back straight!" James put up the timeout sign and walked over to Misty. He shook his head.
"Back straight sweetheart," he said, fixing Misty's posture. Misty shuddered at first when he laid a cold hand on her bare back. The other girls snickered but James took no notice. James walked back to the center of the room and counted off the girls to begin.

Misty tried her hardest to keep her back straight, but she could feel the burning pain. She wanted to give up and call it quits, but she also wanted to impress the people to see her perform.
"Little kid," Iris sneered. "In the Unova Region, if we did anything like that, we would be put in the maids section for punishment. You deserve to be an ugly maid."
"She looks like one," Dawn whispered. "All she needs is the uniform and she's all set." Both Iris and Dawn snickered. To Misty's surprise, James wasn't hearing any of this. There was a professional piano player who could play very well. He was playing to loud for James to hear.

Misty continued to dance, swinging her arms gently in the air. Her balance had improved from last time after multiple falls. The girls did their ballet routines every Monday from 6-8:30 am. Then after that was their music lesson, which Misty hated even more.
"Alright ladies, that's enough," James said, clapping his hands. "Take a 10 minute break and we'll come back to the dance." James and the piano player walked off and disappeared around a corner for a private conversation.

This gave Serena a chance to stand up and stand in front of the girls. She, too, took ballet. Even a queen from Kalos had to have grace. She would star as the leader of the group for her royal ball. Serena loved being the center of attention.
"Ladies, Misty," she began. "You are all doing a lovely job. You are all gonna make my ball a ball that no one will forget."
"They will forget it," Misty muttered. "They'll forget it like they forget everything else."
"Did I mention you'll be getting your Pokémon to dance with in the piece?" Serena asked.
The girls squealed.
Misty's head lifted up. A small smile appeared on her rosy pink face. According to some of the maids, Serena had the smile that cleared away rainstorms and made the flowers bloom.

"Oh please let my Pokémon be the finest of them all!" Mallow exclaimed. She was the princess of the Alola Region.
"A partner for my Beautifly!" May said. "How exciting!" The girls huddled around each other whispering and chattering about their Pokémon they would receive for the ball.
Misty sat away from the girls like usual, listening to their conversation, wondering what type of Pokémon she'd get. She loved water type Pokémon. So maybe a Squirtle or a Horsea. All her sisters had Pokémon.

Serena walked over to Misty.
"You better hope your skills improve or else you won't be there," Serena scolded. "I will not have this important day ruined. I'm keeping my eye on you, little runt!"
The other girls glared at Misty. Misty quickly nodded her head, but at the same time, she didn't understand what was going on. Dawn leaned over to May and whispered something in her ear. The both of them began to snicker and quickly returned to their quiet positions when James had returned.

Outside of the Cerulean Castle, the princesses sat in the garden, enjoying their tea. They got to watch the battles for entertainment. The boys and men seemed to be heated. Lord WaterFlower wasted no time sending out his Pokémon and telling them which attack to use.
"That dirty maid!" Lily shouted as she appeared with Violet and Daisy. The older princesses took different classes. "My favorite sash has gone missing! The pink one with the rose printings on it. She stole it!"
"That's terrible!" Iris said. "Have her fired at once! The maids at Unova Manor know how to behave and keep their hands to themselves. If they touch one thing without being asked, they are gone for good, never to return."
"Oh Iris!" Dawn sighed. "I've been meaning to come and visit Unova Manor after so long. All this Coordinator competitions have been quite tiring. How is Cilan?"
"Oh no need to worry. I've been quiet tired myself with all these Dragon trainings. Cilan is doing just fine. Such a fine boy working hard with his brothers serving the finest food in Unova."
