Imagine the city called Cerulean City a huge place. Bigger than you imagined in the games and the anime. Imagine that this book that your reading is set in the 1800's. What if Cerulean City had its own palace?
Wouldn't that be great? Well, what are we waiting for. Let's hop into the story and let's begin.....
_____________

Misty (Kasumi) Waterflower sighed.
She looked out the window in her bedroom. She kept reminding herself to stop looking out the window of the old dreadful castle that she lived in. All she ever saw were the experienced male trainers. All of them water type trainers.
Females weren't allowed to battle.
Females couldn't do anything.
Misty was supposed to be getting ready for a ladies day in the reading area and luncheon after that. She was supposed to be there in 10 minutes or she would be considered tardy. Tardiness was not tolerated in the Waterflower's household. Every lady were to be there on time.

Misty fixed her hand-me-down dress that she had gotten from her older sister, Violet. It was a mint green dress that sparkled and was in good condition. Violet took care of her things properly and their parents had maids that made dresses almost every single day.
Misty stepped into the dress and looked at herself in a nearby mirror. Nothing really was special. Just another hand me down from her sisters. They got everything. Dresses, jewelry, satin ribbons that were laced into their hair. Whenever Misty asked for something, her parents would complain about how ungrateful she was and usually called her a 'runt'.

Misty tried something with her hair, but it was to short. She could only braid it into a crown and stick a flower in for the finishing touch. Not to bad. Not bad at all.
Misty picked up her skirts and walked out her room. The hallway was empty. Not a single princess or maid was seen. She saw Lily storming down the stairs, her face flushed.
"That untamed maid!" Lily grumbled. "Always touching stuff she isn't supposed to touch. My hair bows have gone missing!" Misty rolled her eyes at such comment. She didn't mind the maids as they had given her compliments of how she was the only one that was nice and was truly beautiful. She even kept them from quitting their jobs.
__________
Misty reached the reading room a few minutes late, having to be distracted with some princess's Squirtle and getting lost in the halls.
She appeared and curtsied. No one bowed or curtsied back. They all stared at her with envy, but continued on with their conversations. A few girls rolled their eyes.
"Oh look, it's Misty," Another princess named Iris sneered. "I can't call her princess because she doesn't deserve that title. What a little kid. Thinks she can run around and cause trouble."
She and a few other girls began to laugh.
Princess Iris had come all the way from the Unova Region. She was a dragon trainer and owned many dragon type pokemon. With one little glare from her, any pokemon could obey her.

"Misty, it is highly rude to attend a gathering at a later time," Daisy, her sister said, her voice low and annoyed. "Mother and father will not allow this at all! Be a lady why don't you?"
Daisy rapidly turned away from Misty and stood near Violet and Lily, her head turned up and her nose looked like it could touch the ceiling.

"Aww, mommy and daddy still treating you like a little kid?" Iris playfully pouted.
"Must they hold your hand?" May, the princess of the Hoenn Region, teases.
"Must they teach you your manners?" Dawn, the princess of Sinnoh, taunted. "They're absolutely terrible!"
The girls burst into laughter. Misty took a deep breath and began to walk away, only to bump into Serena, the one who envied her the most. She was the queen of Kalos and was only 10. Serena gave Misty the most coldest stare, a stare that could make anybody freeze.

"Still the untamed girl, I see," Serena coldly sneered. "You haven't grown up a bit. Why can't you be like your sisters and everyone else? If I were to have a royal ball, I would have you as one of my maids and dress you up in the most ugliest outfit."
Misty's eyes grew wide. "That is no way for a lady to talk!" Misty hissed. "How did you become queen if you're so rude and stuck up? How did anyone get to where they are now by being rude and stuck up?"
Serena rolled her eyes. "Riches, beauty, manners, that's how we got here. You have none of that besides coming from a rich family. But of course, they wouldn't want you as a daughter."

The words that tumbled out of Serena's mouth was so harsh, it stung Misty in her throat. She tried hard not to cry, although she could feel the tears trying to break free. They were like ripe fruit waiting to fall from a tree.
Misty straightened herself up before she could embarrass herself even further. In her eyes, she could see herself as beautiful as anyone else. Not by looks, but by personality. All the other ladies were just plain ugly and showed no respect towards one another. To make things worse, they tend to compete with one another. Just yesterday Iris and May where fighting over a dress that possibly couldn't fit them both.

Misty's sisters all sat in a corner gossiping about something she didn't want to hear. She knew they were talking about her. Daisy decided to tune out the noise by reading a book. She looked a little annoyed.
She decided to sit in a chair facing in front of the girls. She watched as they chatted about riches and their looks. Why couldn't she be like them? Why couldn't she be a lady?
Because she was Misty Waterflower. And there was only one Misty Waterflower. The one thing she longed for was to have a battle. But then again, ladies weren't allowed to battle. They could raise a Pokémon by grooming and caring for them, but no battling.

At that moment, the sound of a Ponyta was heard. Immediately, the girls stopped talking and picked up their skirts to get to the windows. Misty followed behind even if she had no interest in who it was. It was probably just some messenger who had mail for one of the ladies. Misty never got any mail. No one bothered to send any her way.

She looked out the window to see a boy. A boy her age. He was wearing the most suitable prince clothing and had a Pikachu sitting on his shoulder. He had messy jet black hair that needed to be combed right away. When he got off his Ponyta, he stood very tall. His head lifted up and his nose touching the sky.
"Such a handsome young boy!" Dawn cooed. "I wonder who he is?"
"He must be a prince!" May obviously pointed out. "That Ponyta and Pikachu look so groomed. As a matter of fact, I need to groom Beautifly as soon as possible."
The ladies continued to stare. They made such lovey dovey comments that made Misty sick to her stomach. But she had to admit, that young prince looked handsome. The boy disappeared around the back into the gardens. He must be here for a battle! Lucky guy.

"Ladies, lets Turn our attention back over here please," Lily instructed. "We shall now be getting ready for our luncheon in the gardens. Make sure to take your umbrella's as it is most likely going to be hot today."
The girls did what they were told, shoving and pushing past Misty without even saying 'excuse me'. She was the last one to follow, taking her pale pink umbrella.
Violet pulled Misty back by her sleeve.
"Be on your best behavior," Violet hissed. "It's about time you become a lady. Sit up straight and act properly. Understood?"
Misty nodded.
Violet shoved her out of the room without saying anything else. She whipped past her, no longer making eye contact with her sister. Nobody likes Misty.
All because she was trying her hardest to be her own character. To show her own personality.

Pokeshippers, I hope you enjoyed this prologue. I might go back and edit later just in case things don't make sense or work out.

I believe I may have made some errors due to this book being set sometime in the 1800's. (I may even get the date wrong).
Before we move on, is it possible for all 4 Waterflower girls to become princesses or can there only be one? If each girl from different regions were princesses (besides Serena), where would the debutantes fall in?

Hopefully these questions will be cleared up and I'll know what I'm writing the next time I upload another chapter. Thank you :)
