Misty sighed.
Having to scrub the reading room floors where no fun. She had a lot of chores to do for her punishment. So far she washed the princesses clothes, which took two days from the day she spent with Ash. She organized the books in the library and helped a maid sew some torn dresses.
Misty got up and dusted herself off. She officially done with her chores. Now all she had to do was grab her ballet clothes and meet the other ladies in the dance room. Or just skip it. But she had already gotten into enough trouble.

Misty walked into the dance room quietly and joined the other girls who were practicing on balance. Whoever stood the longest got the first pick of their Pokémon dance partner. Axew and Piplup, who arrived just a couple of hours ago, sat on the floor next to the other girl's clothes. Piplup smiled as he watched Misty dance, but Axew gave a cold glare.
James looked at Misty impressed. Her leg stretched out straight. There was no need for him to correct her. He could tell right away Misty had been practicing. His Growlith (named Growlie) looked quite impressed, too. He stood up straight and fixed his eyes on Misty.

"Good job, ladies. You're doing very well," James said. "Misty, your balance is incredible. Do keep up the good work."
Misty smiled. James turned away and began stretching his own body. He was much taller than the girls and more flexible. Misty had once seen him bend is body backwards, his hands touching the ground. He also played the piano and violin, too. His fingers were very flexible when playing both instruments. A man who once had 23 tutors, James was considered the most intelligent.

May, who stood behind Misty, pushed Misty's leg with her foot, which caused Misty to slip and almost fall, holding on to the bar, still. Of course James heard the slip, and he sorta saw May do it, and gave her the warning look.
Not only did Misty slip, but she kicked Dawn in the back of her leg, which earned a cold stare from her. Iris, Serena and Mallow giggled, James not paying attention to them.

Misty stood by James and watched the girls switch to their other foot. Mallow was the second person to give out, then came Dawn, then Iris, and then May. Misty would be the last person to choose her Pokémon because she was the first to loose her balance, all thanks to May.
Since Serena was the queen, she was the first one to choose her Pokémon. Unfortunately, these Pokémon would be chosen for only a short time, and then would be given back to Nurse Joy.
Cruel, thought Misty. Only use 'em for a dance and then ditch 'em. Is everyone insane?

In the group was a Beautifly, Staryu, a Purrlion, Treeko, a Pika and a Physduck. The girls looked at the Pokémon in awe, already knowing which one to choose. Iris frowned.
"None of these are dragon type!" She complained. "And what's worse is that there's a Purrlion here. What if I bring Cilan to the ball? He'll have a cow!"
Misty sighed. "He'll just have to deal with it," She told Iris. "Help him come over that fear. Maybe he won't do so bad around them."
"Mind your own business, little kid! You know nothing about choosing good Pokémon! I bet none of these wouldn't be around you considering how ugly you are!"
Serena nodded her head. "I'll see about getting you a dragon-type Pokémon, Iris," she said. "After all, I am the queen of Kalos, so I can make changes whenever I want."

Queen of Kalos. Queen of Kalos. Whoever crowned her queen was crazy! Nobody deserved that snobby attitude from a girl that was 10-11 years of age. Misty imagined herself as queen. People would love her. She would help the poor and even invite them to her royal balls. She would even make the riches see that the poor weren't so bad after all.
She remembered traveling to Azalea Town, where she met a guy named Kurt. Unfortunately, so many things were going on at the time. The slowpoke were in danger, he was running short on the materials he needed to make Pokeballs, and not only that, his granddaughter was just born at the time. While the other princesses didn't help, Misty stayed behind and helped him. Things went by quickly, but everything was back to normal. The last thing she heard from Kurt was, "If we were to vote a queen for this town, I'd choose you." Misty was only 6 at the time.

Serena straightened herself and walked over to the Pokémon. "Purrlion, you shall be my partner for this dance," Serena instructed. "You seem to have the potential of an actual dancer. The sassiness and pride tells it all."
James pinched his nose. Misty could tell he didn't want to be here. Misty once her him say the older dancers were much more mature than this. He took his hair out of the ponytail. He was done. Time to take a break.

Mallow's turn was next.
"I choose the cute little Pika," she said. "Such an adorable thing you are. You'll give the whole dance energy. Not literally as I know you, Pikachu and Riachu tend to shock people. But you'll be perfect!"
The Pika squealed with joy and followed Mallow. Dawn was next. She studied hard. Meanwhile, Misty was praying that she would get the Staryu. It looked so beautiful and she would do anything to have it for her first Pokémon.

"Beautifly, would you be my partner?" Dawn calmly asked. The other girls stared at her with envy and May crossed her arms. She wanted the beautifuly. She had always wanted one, but her parents seemed to be to uptight with Max at the moment.
May went next and sighed, but she remembered that one of the Pokémon were actually from the same region as her.
"Treeko, you shall dance with me," May said. "You are from the same region as me, Hoenn. Not only that, but you are known to be one of the top 3 starters for beginning trainers." Treeko joined May, holding her hand.

The last two were Staryu and Physduck. Misty hoped that Physduck was choosen by Iris. Iris walked up to the last two.
"Staryu," She said quickly said. Misty's mouth dropped open. The Staryu walked over to Iris. The poor thing looked tired.
The Physduck walked over to Misty. The cute little thing. It turned its head sideways, but gave a little smile. Misty couldn't help but smile back. She bent down and gave the Physduck a hug.

"Iris, you may be a dragon trainer, but you are to take that Staryu near somewhere that has water," Misty instructed.
"Don't tell me what to do!" Iris shot back. "It's perfectly fine! Unlike your Physduck. It looks ugly just like you! Besides, can't it live without water?"

Misty had it.
"IT'S A WATER-TYPE POKEMON! OF COURSE IT CANT LIVE WITHOUT WATER!"
"Calm down, there, little girl," a voice said. Misty turned to look at a Meowth. James' Meowth. He didn't look mad.
"She is right, ya' know," Meowth said, turning towards Iris. "That thing can't live without water or else it's gonna die. Don't ya' know anything about water-types?"

Iris stood there, silent. She wanted to strangle that cat Pokémon, badly. Meowth walked over to James.
"Hey there, indigo-head!" He greeted.
"It's lavender," James scolded.
"Whatever. Listen, you got a call from your parents. That fiancée of yours is coming to visit and they need you to come home. Are they still trying to force you to marry that girl?"

James froze.
"Holy Matrimony!" James yelled, and ran out of the room. Meowth shrugged. Being the only Pokémon (so far) that could talk. His eyes then widen and then smirked.
"By the way, one of your Pokémon says you girls are stuck up, expect for that Misty girl. Such beautiful name by the way. Better treat your Pokémon right or else. I think it came from that Treeko."

May rolled her eyes.
Meowth went to go follow James. The ladies yawned and stretched themselves. Physduck came and sat on the floor with Misty.
"You're such a cute Pokémon!" Misty said, rubbing the top of Physduck's head. He smiled. What Misty noticed was that his hands weren't on his head. It was either that he didn't have a headache or just didn't learn the move yet.

James popped back in.
"By the way, you guys are dismissed," he said. He popped back out again. The girls looked at one another.
"What's so bad about his fiancée?" May asked.
"I bet she's rich!" Iris said.
"Of course she is!" Serena said. "James wouldn't want to marry a poor girl! That's why his parents want him to come home!"

Misty rolled her eyes. Physduck did the same.
"I see you don't like these girls, either, huh?" Misty asked, and Physduck nodded.

Haha! Get it? Indigo League?
Lavender Town? Somebody show me where the door is.

James has a fiancé? Yes he does. For anyone who's seen the Indigo League series he has one. I haven't seen it on TV, I just happened to see it on YouTube. (I was in 8th grade at the time)
James fiancé appears in both Holy Matrimony and another episode (forgot the name of it but it was shown in the Diamond and Pearl series).

It is also mentioned that James does play the violin and piano and had 23 tutors (I think) in the series. Poor James :( Had it rough growing up.

Sorry about the wait in the chapter. I needed a break from writing and plus I didn't want to make Misty's punishment to long.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this chapter :D
