Ashley seemed to stare into the core for the longest time. Tears would occasionally roll down her cheeks, and she would breathe in every few seconds. The Doctor guarded her, watching for anything that could harm her. He didn't care if anything got him, he cared about her the most. But then, there was a crash in the background.
The Doctor held his sonic screwdriver tight, and looked around. After a few seconds, he saw them. Five tall glass creatures who looked very hungry. And the Doctor knew one thing then: They had to get back to the TARDIS immediately.
He shook Ashley. "Ash, we need to leave now."
No response.
"Ashley, can you hear me? Please tell me you hear me."
Still no response.
He started to panic, scared that he lose his sister to the core. The creatures were closer now, near the stairs. They had to leave now, or they would die at the hands of the mirror creatures. He held her face and put her forehead on his and he closed his eyes. That's when she woke up with a gasp for air.
"What have you done??" she asked, almost demanded of him.
"I saved you. And now we need to leave." He showed her the creatures and she almost immediately started shooting at them.
After all the creatures were shot down, they ran to the TARDIS, went inside, and locked the door behind them. They tried to catch their breath for a minute and then they yawned at the same time. The Doctor smirked, "Looks like it's time for some rest."
They went to their bedrooms and fell asleep. Ashley had nightmares of what she saw, and the Doctor had dreams of losing her. Of course, they would never tell each other the dreams, fearing what the other would say.
Ashley woke up, yawned, and stretched. She got out of bed and went to the wardrobe, knowing she would have to return the clothes she used.
Unlike the Doctor, she doesn't like wearing the same outfit all the time. She changes her clothes that fit her mood at the moment. Currently, she was laid back, so she grabbed a white wool sweater, jeans, and converse. Then, she headed to the kitchen for breakfast.
The air smelled of pancakes and sausage. The Doctor was cooking her a big breakfast. This was going to be interesting.
