The Much Anticipated Date

Peter POV:

Anna thinks that it's just a dinner. But I have a few surprises for her. But before I can even think about tonight I need to focus my attention on the present.

We have a huge case, but luckily we are almost done. I glance out my window and see Anna bent over her work at her desk. She looks stressed out. She always seems stressed out.

I get up from my chair and walk towards her desk. When I get there I start to massage her shoulders. She leans back into me and smiles.

"Thanks, Peter."

"No problem. Hey, you about ready to head out?"

"Yeah, I just have one last form to fill out."

"Alright, no rush."

Anna POV:

"Peter, where are we going exactly?"

"You'll see."

A few minutes we pull in front of our favorite restaurant, Twin Anchors.

After we valet our car we head in and only have to wait a few minutes for a table.

"Hello, welcome to Twin Anchors. Do you know what you would like?"

"Yes, I'll have your house salad and an ice tea sweetend with lemon." I order.

"And I'll have a full slab of ribs, zesty sauce, and I'll also have an ice tea sweetend with lemon."

"Coming right up." The waitress says before heading to the kitchen.

As we're eating our food I can't help but laugh about the fact that Peter has sauce all over his face.

"What's so funny?" He asks in between bites.

"You have sauce all over your face."

"I can't help it, I love their ribs. Want some?"

"Peter! You know I'm a vegetarian."

"I know... I know, I'm just kidding."

"Where are we going Peter?" I ask as we start driving somewhere.

"Just be patient."

A few minutes later I realize where we are going. Lincoln Park Zoo. We are going to see the zoo lights.

After we park we make our way into the zoo. And I'm suddenly in awe of the millions of lights all around us.

As we walk through the zoo he puts his arm around my shoulders pulling me close. I lie my head on his shoulder and smile up at him.

"Want some hot chocolate?" He asks.

"I'd love some. Thank you so much."

"No problem."

We continue walking through the zoo, hot chocolates in hand. I smile at all the little kids running around excitedly pointing at different light displays. I can't help but imagine what my life would be like with a little kid.

Day Dream:

"Olivia get back here!" I shout after my 5 year old daughter as she runs through Lincoln Park Zoo.

"Sorry Mommy!" She says as she runs back towards me.

"It's alright just stay where Daddy and I can see you."

As she runs excitedly ahead towards the gift shop I glance at Peter and smile. He smiles back before giving me a quick kiss on my forehead.

"I love you and Olivia. And I'm so glad that we are finally a family."

End daydream

"Anna!" Peter says.

"Huh, what?" I ask pulling myself out of my daydream.

"I asked if you were ready to go."

"Oh yeah, sorry."

"It's fine."

As we're driving back towards his apartment he leans over and gives me a quick kiss on the cheek.

"I love you Anna."

"And I love you Peter."

AN: I'm finally back! I'm so sorry, I've been so busy lately. But I will be updating all my stories at least once this week. So, today I actually started watching Justice from the beginning again and I forgot just how much I love it. So, I got plenty of ideas for this story in the future. And, I would like to ask all of your opinions on something. I reread my last chapter and one line really got me thinking. Do you want me to make a chapter where Peter gets sick?
