Attack on Dragons

Chapter two

Our heroes trudged through the forest following Sasha. "I knew it was a mistake to take that quest..." Jean muttered to himself. Armin gave him a venomous stare.

"Well Sasha said that we're halfway." Said Marco hopefully. The group gave a groan in unison, save Marco and Mikasa. "Jean, your such an idiot." Connie spat.

"I'm an idiot? Your the one who said we should take it, because we have 'the best tracker in the world" he said making air quotations. "Well your the one who shook on it right away." Connie returned.

Sasha suddenly stopped in the front of the group. "Sasha whats-" she stuck her hand in the air, signalling everyone to stop talking.

A chill passed through the air and she motioned them to hide behind a bush. They sat for quite a while, waiting for a signal to continue.

Eren and Jean were growing impatient. "Are you gonna tell us whats up?" Eren hissed and everyone shushed him. "Shut up you suicidal bastard." Jean coughed.

The air became colder and suddenly went back to the regular temperature. Sasha stood and the others followed. "Well? What was that." Eren asked.

Armin answered for her "a ice dragon." They all stood still, as if it was still there. "That must have been the one that attacked the town."

"Then we have a lead. We should follow it and go to its cave." Mikasa ordered. "Are you crazy?!? We're nowhere near ready to fight a dragon!" Jean yelled.

"No, but our quest says to find Annie, and if the dragon has her than we should go and check." Armin replied. "If the dragon has her she's dead and probably just bones. We'll never be able to tell its her." The others nodded in agreement.

Armin shook his head "wrong, ice dragons don't eat people they just freeze them and preserve their bodies, stealing their life essence and adding it to their ice caves life."

A collective "oh" swept over the group, save Mikasa. "So, Sasha, follow that dragon!" Eren ordered. She nodded and ran after its scent.

Their feet traveled through the dewey grass, the armour some of them wore made loud noises as they dashed. They pulled to a stop at the foot of a mountain, a large cliff shielding the mountain itself from their vision.

"Come on." Sasha ushered as she began to climb. Though she was normally rather laid back, when hunting, Sasha was absolutely terrifying.

Armin seemed uncomfortable "I don't do well with heights..." He said in a soft tone. Eren rolled his eyes. "Well get your ass up there, your our only mage." Eren commanded.

Armin looked hesitant before putting his staff on his back and climbing up the jagged cliff. "Don't look down, don't look down." He muttered to himself and gazed behind him. He was about three feet off the ground. "OhGodsOhGodsOhGods." He closed his eyes and pulled his body against the cliff. "Fucking wimp." Jean muttered before pushing past him.

"Take this." Marco said as he passed Armin, he swung a rope around his abdomen. "Now, I'm going to start climbing, but I need you to try to climb too ok?" He said to Armin in a kind tone.

Armin nodded slightly. They climbed together, Armin felt secure now that he was tied to Marco, he guessed Marco had that effect on people.

They finally reached the top, only meters away was a large crystal covered cave. "Th-thats it." Armin huffed, out of breath. "Thats where the dragon is." He fell back onto his butt. Marco pat his back in a sympathetic way.

"We'll rest here for a few minutes and then go in ok?" Mikasa asked. A collective "yes" was heard, but two voices seemed to be missing. "H-hey, where are Eren and Jean?" Armin asked.
