Ravi was pacing up and down nervously. He looked ahead at the building, which was Ken's apartment, and then looked down again at his feet. The boy's heart was beating fast against his chest.
"Here goes nothing," Ravi spoke to himself as he took the elavator to the highest level, and walked to the front of Ken's apartment.
Upon reaching, he frowned at the sight of the pair of shoes that laid in front of the main door. Beside Ken's own pair of shoes was another one that he'd never ever seen. Ravi took a small peek and realised that the door, too, was open. He opened the door quietly and heard faint sounds of laughter coming from the room.
Curiosity got the best him and he entered the house, sneaking past the living room and walking towards the bedroom.
"Yah, Jin!", Ravi heard Ken laugh.
He peeked into the room and saw a brief moment of Jin laying atop of Ken, the both laughing their hearts out. There was a small tug in Ravi's chest as he let out a shaky breath. Of course Ken chose Jin-hyung. Jin was smart, handsome and funny whereas he was only some puny barista trying to make a living.
Ravi turned around and ran out. Well, attempted to run out. He accidentally slipped and tried steadying himself against, but it still caused a loud bang to be heard.
"Aish, really?", Ravi muttered to himself as he rubbed his head.
"Who's- Ravi?"
Ken's eyes widened at the sight of Ravi in his apartment. Jin appeared beside Ken a few seconds later and he quickly assessed the situation around him.
"Jaehwanie, forget the plan. Do as you please," Jin winked at his friend and bowed slightly towards Ravi before leaving the apartment.
"A-Are you okay?", Ken reached out to Ravi but the latter only flinched away from him.
"I'm just here to apologise for the whole instagram thing. I'm sorry hyung," Ravi apologised and bowed.
Ken stood in front of Ravi and prevented the younger from leaving. "I-Is that all you have to say?"
no, Ravi thinks as he gulps. "Yes. Bye."
Ken stopped Ravi again by pinning the latter against the wall. "Are you sure?"
I like you, Ken hyung. Ravi shakes his head as he averts his gaze away from Ken.
"Really? Because the blush on your face and your expression tells me otherwise," Ken leans closer to Ravi.
Ravi felt giddy and so overwhelmed with emotions that a single tear rolled down his cheek. Ken released his grip from Ravi's shoulders as he stares at his dongsaeng.
"Fine! I like you okay?! I've liked you for such a long time! But I know i can't date you. You're smart, you're talented and professional. Me? I'm just a fucking barista trying to earn money because he thinks he could actually afford a studio with equipment to produce music!"
"W-Wonshik," Ken stuttered as he tried to take in whatever Ravi had yelled to him. Sure, now he knew that his feelings toward Ravi were mutual, but why did Ravi think that way of himself? It hurt him to see Ravi this way.
Ken threw himself at Ravi and engulfed the younger in his arms, stroking Ravi's hair gently. "Please don't cry."
"I'm s-sorry-"
"Shh," Ken calmed Ravi down as he continued to pat Ravis back and stroke his hair. He pressed a small kiss onto Ravi's forehead and led the dongsaeng to the couch.
Ken passed Ravi the tissue box and let the younger dry his face first. He then shifted closer to Ravi and pulled the latter to his chest. Ravi laid close to Ken, sniffing a little, and relaxed in Ken's arms.
"Ravi-ah," Ken broke the silence first. "Why would you think that?"
"Think what?"
The elder sighed. "That you're just a barista and that I'm such... such a professional?"
"Because it's true," Ravi's voice broke as he sniffed loudly. "You can do art, sing, act. Even your apartment is huge. I could never live up to your expectations."
"Ravi, is this why you've never told me about your feelings for me?"
The younger one pursed his lips and felt his heart race again. "Y-Yes. But you have Jin-hyung now so-"
"He's the same age as me Ravi," Ken said. "And my close friend."
Ravi's face was plastered with confusion as he tried to process Ken's statement. Ken leaned down a little and chuckled at the sight of Ravi frowning slightly with a pout.
"He already has a boyfriend," Ken continued to explain. "And he was teaching me several things about relationships between two males."
"Two males?"
Ken nodded. "Because I've never had a relationship with any boy before. But I want one with you."
Ravi jumped a little as Ken held onto his chin gently and tilted his head. Ken leaned over and pressed his lips against Ravi's, the other hand around the younger's neck. The elder could feel Ravi slowly relax into the kiss, moving his lips against the other's.
"You're not just a barista," Ken pulled away and smiled at Ravi dearly. "You're Kim Wonshik. An amazing barista, a boy filled with hopes and big dreams. Most importantly, you're the greatest person I've met."
"That's n-not true...", Ravi blushed as he bit his lip.
Ken chuckled as rubbed his thumb across Ravi's cheek. "It is true. You're and amazing person who doesn't deserve to be put down by anyone. Also, I have no expectations or whatever."
Ken hugged Ravi again and placed Ravi's head on his lap this time. He played with Ravi's hair as he continued to speak." The only expectation I have of you is that you love yourself and be happy."
Ravi smiled as he heard Ken speak, a tinge of hope in his being. Maybe Ken was right and that he was too hard on himself.
"So, what are we now?", Ken asked.
The younger one shrugged. "B-Boyfriends? I mean if that's okay with you, I mean-"
Ken bent over and gave Ravi a peck on the lips. "Boyfriends it is."
They are literally boyfriends.
