Chapter 5

I woke up the next morning with two strong arms wrapped around me.  I was confused so I sat up quickly and turned to see who was holding me.  Oh My God!  Why is Grant here with me?  I tried thinking everything through  in my head, but was coming up with nothing.  It wasn't until I moved my neck and pain shot through me that I remembered.  Oh God he marked me! 

I tried to frantically get out of his arms, but he was holding me to tight.

"Zoey lay back down, it's to early" he mumbles into his pillow, while pulling me back down into him.

"No Grant get up!" I yell, trying to pull away from him.

"What's wrong?" he asks, finally starting to wake up.  He looks at me confused, while I stare at him angrily.

"You marked me!" I yell at his face.

"That's what this is all about?" he says, making it sound like no big deal.

"Yes that's what this is all about! How could you do that to me?"

"You were practically begging me last night" he says with a cocky grin.

I was about to deny that comment, but then memories of last night flashed through my mind.  I remember us kissing on the bed, getting pretty heated, then him biting me.  Great I'm a slut.  I put my head in my hands and groan.  How could I be mated to this perverted ass?

"I'm guessing we're not going back to sleep are we?" I hear him ask behind me.

I throw a pillow at his head then turn back around.

"I'll take that as a no" he says laughing and getting up from the bed.

I don't find any of this funny.  I look around for my phone and see it across the room.  I get up and go pick it up.  I dialed Lily's number, but I got her answering machine.  Of course.  She's prob passed out somewhere with a guy.  I decide to call Caleb and see if he would answer.  After a few rings he picks up.

"Hello?" he asks groggily.

"Hey Caleb could you come pick me up? I'm still at the party" I say and notice Grant come out of the room at the mention of Calebs name.

"Why are you still there? I thought you left some time last night" he says confused.

"Long story" I sigh into the phone.

"Who are you talking to?" Grants asks while walking up to me.

"No one" I say turning so my back was to him.

"Zoey who are you talking to?" He asks again, this time with more authority in his voice.

"Zoey who is that?" I hear Caleb ask through the phone, but I have no time to answer because Grant grabs my phone from me.

"Hey!" I yell trying to grab it back.

Grant hangs up the phone and throws it across the room.

"Did you seriously call Caleb instead of asking me, your mate for a ride?"

"Don't say mate" I say shaking my head at him.

"Why? It's what we are Zoey so get used to it"

I don't talk back to him, instead I go and sit down on the bed.  He walks over and crouches so he's kneeling in front of me.

"Hey" he says turning my face so I'm looking at him.

"I know that this might not be what you want.  I know you've heard things about me, bad things.  But i can promise you that I'm going to be the best mate for you. No one will ever hurt you or cause any harm to you ever again" he says looking into my eyes.

He then grabs my hands and I let him.  He starts to rub them with his thumbs soothingly.

"Give me a chance okay? I know that I'm a possessive ass who gets under your skin, but I'm more then that"

God why does he have to be so sweet?  My wolf was purring at his words and I must admit, so was I. I give him a light smile.

"One chance alright buddy?"

He smiles an actual smile, not one of his smirks I've been used to.

"One chance is all I need baby" 

He then leans in and gives me a quick peck on the lips.  I feel the sparks fly instantly once our lips meet.

I guess this means I found my mate finally...

Sorry it's so short, I just didn't have a lot of time, but wanted to get something out.
