Chapter 7

Later that day I met up with Grant to walk to lunch together.  It's so weird actually being a couple now and let me tell you, we've been the talk all day.  I'm not liking the attention, but Grant seems to be loving it.

"Hey there Beautiful." Grant says when he notices me walking towards him.  Once I reach him he pulls me into a bone crushing hug.

"Hey easy there, you're going to kill me." I joke trying to push out of his embrace.  He let's go of me slightly, but keeps his arms around me.

"I've just missed you." He says giving me a huge smile.

"You've missed me? Where did that bad ass player go?" I laugh as I poke him.

He rolls his eyes at me.

"He's found what's been missing in his life."

Awh how cute is he? I smile and give him a peck on the cheek and we walk into the lunchroom together.  We sit at a table that's in the middle of the room.  Eventually Lily and Matt join us.

"Hey guys." Lily greets.  Grant gives her a head nod and continues eating.  He hasn't really come around to being friends with my friends just yet.

"Hey girl, hey Matt." I say back to them.  We eat lunch in silence pretty much.  It was quite awkward, not gonna lie.

"So how are you guys?" I ask looking at Lily for some help.  She notices my look and straightens up some before answering.

"We're good! We should go on a double date this weekend." She says looking between me and Grant.  I can feel him tense next to me at the mention of double dating.  I can already guess that it's not what he usually does.

"Yeah that'd be a lot of fun! We could go see a movie or something." I suggest hitting grant under the table.  He jumps from the impact of my hand on his leg.

"Yeah that'd be great." He says dully while looking at his food.  I shoot him a quick glare before turning back to Lily.  He could at least act somewhat interested.  Jeez stupid boy!

"Okay well we can text about it later." Lily says getting up and Matt following behind her.

"Okay sounds good." I say and they turn and walk away.  I turn and look at Grant.

"Could you maybe try and act like you like them?" I ask annoyed.  He gives me an annoyed look back.

"I did."

I scoff at him. "Please if that was you trying then I don't wanna know what it'd be like if you didn't try."

He rolls his eyes.

"Well I don't see you trying to make nice with my friends." He shoots back.

"What friends? Those sluts you'd hang out with for a quick shag?"  He gives me a hard look and get's up from his seat quickly and storms out of the room.

Okay maybe I shouldn't have said that, I think to myself.  I got up from the table and went to go find Grant to apologize.  I walked down a few hallways before I found him finally sitting on a bench outside of the gym.

"Hey." I say quietly as I take a seat next to him.  He doesn't respond to me so I continue.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that." I apologize to him.  I go to put my hand on his shoulder, but he moves out of my reach.

"I don't need you apologizing to me Zoey. You were just speaking your mind." He says to me coldly.

I remain silent not wanting to say something to make it worse.

"Is that really what you think of me? That I'm some man whore because if you do then why are you with me huh? I may be that, but I'm okay with it.  You knew who I was before this whole thing started so you can't just bring it up now." He says angrily at me standing up from the bench.

"Grant that's not what I meant okay? I apologized for saying it." I say looking up at him.  His eyes had gone to basically black and he was breathing heavy.

"Really you didn't mean it? Because I'm pretty sure you did. You know what I don't even care.  This is why I never wanted a mate.  I don't need anyone judging me for the things I do." He says throwing his hands up in the air then turning and walking away.

"Grant wait!" I call out to him, but he keeps walking.

Maybe I should just give him time to cool down.  I get up and go to my class, the whole time my mind was on Grant.

After school I waited by my locker for him, but he never showed.

"Hey you okay? You look down." Lily asks coming to my side.

"Have you seen Grant?" I ask scanning the hallway for him.

"No I haven't, why is he missing or something?" She questions confused.

"No, but we got in a fight and I haven't seen him since."

"What could you guys possibly be fighting about already?"

"Well I was just annoyed and brought up how he used to play girls or something like that and he took it way out of control." I say sighing and shutting my locker.

"Oh, well it'll be fine..." She starts, but drifts off her sentence.  I give her a confused look and turn in the direction she was looking in.  My mouth dropped open at what I saw and so did my heart.  Walking down the hall was Grant with a tall red head wrapped around his arm.  He walked right past me and Lily, completing ignoring me.

So this is how it's going to be? Really?  I look around the hallway for somebody.

"Who are you looking for now?" Lily asks confused, still watching Grant and that slut walk away.

"Hey Caleb!" I call loud enough for Grant to hear and walk over to him.  

Two can play this game.
