Shut up and Kiss me

Chapter 1

I'm in a deep sleep when I feel myself being shaken.  I squint my eyes open and see my mom standing above me.

"It's time to get up! Gotta go to school" she says still shaking me.

I groan "Alright alright I'm up! Go away you're to hyper" I say rolling over to my side.  No one should have that much energy in the morning.  She laughs as she walks out of the room "I'm coming back up if you're not downstairs in 10 minutes" she calls over her shoulders.

I flip her off behind her back and get out of bed.  I hate mornings.  I go and stand in front of my mirror looking at myself.  My long blonde hair was a mess so I quickly brushed through it and put it up in a pony tail.  I get changed and start to head downstairs.

I go and give my mom a kiss on the cheek and make my way towards the front door "Bye I'll see you after school" I call over my shoulder.

I get in my car and drive the ten minutes to my school.  When I arrive I see my friends already waiting for me.  I park and make my way towards them.

"You're late!" my friend Lily called.  She clung to her boyfriend.  She met Matt about a year and a half ago and they've been inseparable since.  She was so happy when she found her mate.  I've yet to find mine. 

"I'm not late! I'm right on time" I say looking at the happy couple, wondering if I'll ever have what they do.

"Yeah yeah sure you are" she says starting to head for the school.  I follow behind and catch a weird scent.  It smelled so good, but seemed far away.  I looked around for a second, but didn't see anyone.  I shrug my shoulders and continue walking.  I catch back up to my friends and walk through the entrance of the school.  Once I'm in I get hit by the scent again, only stronger this time.

I try to ignore it as I open my locker.  Out of the corner of my eye I notice a bunch of people surrounding a guy down the hall so I turn to Lily "Hey whose that?" I question turning my attention back to the guy.  She turns her head to look also.

"Oh that's the new guy" she says looking back at me "He just transferred this year.  His dad is the new alpha" she whispers quietly.  My eyes go large.  That's the alphas son?

"Oh" was all I say getting the rest of my books out.  Pretending not to care.

"I hear he's a total player though" she comments shutting her locker.

I turn to take another glance at him.  I can't help but to feel some weird pull to him, it's like my body wants me closer to this guy.  I shake my head out of my thoughts.

"Yeah by the looks of it that seems true" I say looking all the girls throwing themselves at him.  Pathetic I think, turning so my back was to him.  We start to walk to class together.  Once there we go to our seats in the back.  I sit down and pull out my notebook waiting for class to start.

Our teacher walks in and starts to write on the blackboard.  I'm doodling in my notebook when the smell hits me again.  My head shoots up as I look around.  I watch as the new guy makes his way across the class to the teacher.  He stands there talking to him for a few moments before going to take a seat.

My heart starts beating faster and the smell get's even stronger.  I look at the new guy across the room and one word pops into my mind, Mate.

Oh no not him!  Anybody, but him! I think starting to panic.  I see as he sniffs the room and starts to look around.  His eyes land on me and we stare at each other for what seems like hours.  His eyes held a longing look to them, but was quickly gone.  He glares at me then looks away.

I need to get out of here!  I get up from my seat and head out the door.  I hear my teacher calling for me, but I don't look back.  I make my way to the bathroom and splash cold water on my face.  I look in the mirror. "He's not my mate. He's not my mate" I say over and over again trying to reassure myself.

A few minutes later I hear the door open.  I turn to see Lily walking towards me with a confused look.

"What was that about?" she asked worriedly.

"Nothing my stomach just hurts, that's all" I lie not wanting her to know the truth.  Nobody can know.

She looks at me with sympothy "Oh do you feel better now?" she asks rubbing my back soothingly.

I nod my head "Yeah, I am thanks"  We decide to skip the rest of the period.  There was no way I was going back to that class with him.  My wolf was howling at me to return to him, but I denied her.  She's obviously confused right now.  That guy is not our mate.

We hear the bell ring so we leave the bathroom and head to our lockers.  While gathering my books I smell him.  I look to my right and see him down the hall.  His arm around a tall brunette, while her arms were around his waist.  A twinge of jealously runs through my body and I look away from him.

Why are you jealous?  You don't even know the guy! I scold myself as I shut my locker.  Just then my friend Caleb comes over to me.

"Hey Zoey! How are you?" he asked politely giving me a smile.  I've always liked Caleb, he's such a sweetheart.

"I'm good! you?" I smile back.  

"Pretty good myself thanks!  Where you heading?" he asked looking at my books.

"Math" I say with a sigh.  I hate math.

"Great I'll walk with you, my class is right by yours" he says with another smile.

I smile back and start walking with him.  I feel eyes on my so I look around.  I see the new guy looking at me, almost angrily? What's his problem?  I can still feel his eyes on me as Caleb and I pass, but I ignore him. Ha! Take that!

We arrive at my class and Caleb says his good-byes while pulling me into a hug.  He turns and heads into his class.  I'm about to do the same when I'm roughly grabbed from behind and pushed into nearby lockers.

Confused at what was happening I look up and see the new guy glaring at me.  I'm about to tell him to get off me when he growls showing his teeth.

"Mine" was all he said looking into my eyes as he pushed himself off the lockers and started to make his way down the hall.  My wolf howled trying to get me to go after him, but that surely wasn't gonna happen.  I remove myself from the lockers and start to head for my class still stunned.

What the hell just happened?
